The Sandon genes don’t fall far from the tree! John truly emulates his father Henry….in his knowledge and love of porcelain!

Have they ever thought of renaming the show "As Much As That?"

@Amanda Huginkiss. And the USA Antiques Roadshow would be named " Wow"

Pomposity at its worst. We could also start saying inane things like "jolly good, great fun and we could add an r to words where it never existed like the word "idea." sigh

@Kristine Bailey. I'm from Connecticut and I totally agree with John Leach. The British are a delight!!! Pure class. He's absolutely correct we could learn a thing or two from them!! Such a genteel group! The Irish remind me a bit of them but a softer group, beautiful lovely people!!❤️

I would have rather seen the piece of Moorcroft go in the car boot sale - hopefully someone who appreciated it more than this clown would buy it. It's a beautiful piece that should be appreciated by whoever owns it!!

Captain Cook was a dick. I mean nothing spectacular happened the first couple visits but after he left the final time, ships mast broke and he came back and demanded shit. I guess frustrated that he couldn’t just boss his way around since I think by this point he had nothing to trade so him and his men stole the wood from burial structures.
Like, imagine some asshole dismantling your entire community’s church, so that person can do what they what with it for their fancy boat. Rude. So of course some angered Hawaiians stole something of theirs which is why Cook marched back on land, tried to kidnap the king and in doing so, King Kalaniopuu’s people chased after them before Cook could take him on board and well.. they completed their rescue mission.
They didn’t care about being shot (I mean you had to kill your way to the top anyway so they faced death all the time) but they just went for it and that’s why such a big battle broke out and Cook got killed. I mean, as far as I know he’s the only white dude who showed up all high and mighty and was so confrontational that it ended in that way. He was just a rude asshole and reading about him I wondered, did he go mental on his final trip from some Blackbeard way? Like late stage Syphilis? Idk.. he just was NOT chill.

The paintings about the duelling were not amuzing. Duelling amongst the nobles was a real problem, and the painter clearly states how stupid people were to do so.
