America understand talent. That’s the difference. She couldn’t judge talent when she couldn’t sing a note to most. No one knew her too. Even from her looks. Girls Aloud was a British group and she wasn’t a great singer in that. Her looks pulled her through. Simple.
I'm mexican and I have to say that sometimes I don't get the brithish accent, but, I mean, Cheryl is so clear in the way she talks, I don't know how's that some people don't get what she says.

Bringing Paula on was the end of Cheryl on US X-Factor. There was no room for both. Plus, whoever styled her. I'm not big on fashion, but she's such a beautiful woman. Why they put her in such unflattering clothes & hair style is beyond me. She was a UK superstar at the time. She should have really brought it.
She needs to come back and judge the X factor USA cuz she was great!! I remember watching her on TV and thought she was real honest! Cheryl is awesome!!

She was perfectly understandable for me as a non-USA citizen who has never lived in an English country. Nobody in the USA should have problems understanding her. This has more to do with American pride which mostly is about everything being American. This view should have died 40 years ago when America was seen as the world leading country. That isn't relevenat anymore, not at all. It is a world country but a part of the world and as such citizens should not be so isolated about it. They could, by al means it's their freedom, the end result is they get more isolated and even more seen as a country with great arrogance and overstated status. Isolate from the world and you will be treated as stubborn, arrogant and with that useless for world politics. Then you only have power, and when you lose that notice that respect already died many years ago. We have enough of those countries in the world and they are mostly hated. You can't work with them, completely useless. Everybody hates arrogance, also America (it's a christian sin named pride), they just don't like it when other do it.
I think Cheryl would do great in this first season, but I realized the lacked chemistry on the panel, at 1:06 you can see LA Reed and Paula didn't pay attention to Cheryl and you can see at 1:14 that they changed the chairs for her to get closer to Simon since she had more intimacy with him and could interact more with him. It was definitely missing something on the judging panel. If they had put Cheryl and Britney together, surely they would have had an interesting friendship to see.

Cheryl didnt seem to be the same as she was on the UK version of the show. Even in 2008 when she first started she was much more energetic and you could tell she was comfortable with her role, and as the 3 years progressed we could see that more and more, but on the USA version she didnt seem to be enjoying herself as much, its a shame but thats show business
I'm American! From the midwest actually! And I have never had a problem with Hugh Laurie's accent or with Cheryl Cole's accent! I think that's a very weak point to try to make!

Cheryl wasnt fired because of her judging abilities,the fact that US audience's didnt "get her" or didn't understand her accent its simply because simon cowell thought she would sleep with him if he gave her the world (a chance to crack america) &- she wouldnt, because shes a smart girl & knows that she can do it in her own way, in her own time! she has even more of my respect for not sleeping her way to the top.shes a star in her own right & doesnt need simon or fame in the US to tell her that.
Cheryl actually gives quite good criticisms of people's singing. being in a girl band, she knows about vocal harmonies and she does repeatedly demonstrate she knows what she's talking about. Singing is something that can be trained but you also have to have a certain amount of natural ability to be a good singer. But that doesn't mean someone without that natural abilty can't learn the best singing techniques.
As much as I love Cheryl and as much as I hate the fact that she got fired,x factor is Simons show.He owns it so he can fire/hire whoever he thinks will boost the ratings :(

I really like Kelly being a judge though. I can see that this year she is more confident in her decisions where as when she was on the UK X Factor with Gary Barlow, Tulisa, and Louie she seemed to be kind of timid or something like that.

It's different. Its a Geordie accent and it's very beautiful in my opinion. I perfectly understand her as well and don't get why the fuss over her accent. The north English accent like she has faces a lot of stereotypes over there, kind of like here in the U.S. and the stereotypes tied to the southern drawl.
I think the judging panel was a mess and would have done better with 3 judges instead of 4. Simon & Cheryl should have stayed. I understand why Paula was of interest (obviously they wanted a reunion and that American Idol chemistry that would bring in viewers), but really, let's be honest, the second she was brought on, that was going to be the end of Cheryl on the panel. I think they should have just kept it at 3 judges, Simon, Cheryl & LA Reid.
