- This is 1st out of several games I played in the most OP and broken ships in the game I could find. They are right after each other and I will be uploading them in such order, just to show you how good WG is at balancing.

@@LordEmperorHyperion Its a fuking competitive video game, not a history documentary. Balance and fun should be the highest priority, not historical accuracy.
By far the craziest thing WG has done was “fix” CVs earning too much XP by nerfing the XP modifier. It didn’t tell them CVs were doing too much, nooooo it was just a “balance” calculation error.
Bro of course they were earning doing a lot, if there was only one DD on each team she would do alot too, if there was 4 CVs per team they would do less aswell.
CCs: It's not so OP when X, Y and Z come together plus Christmas and Easter at the same day.

In this game Montana or any USN ships wouldn't fare any better because of the game mechanic that ensure the first strike will always get through no matter how stacked your AA is, and that's against tech tree CV. FDR? Forget it! You're not stopping him from dropping you, ever.
It's insane how the squadrons can just kinda hang out in like 5 AA bubbles. Broken beyond comprehension
Unless it meets Wargaming's pride and joy, their balans tech tree ships that can nearly solo entire FDR squadrons with their totally realistic and balans designs
Then people wonder why BBs camp at the back, those yamatos sure had a fun experience...
Look them both up, they have no experience, and farming lonly yamatos is the dream of every CV i guess :D

Its so funny to see the ships shooting their AA and doing nothing to those planes. Even if they just hover over those ships. Perfectly balanced.
Definitly the easiest ship to play in the entire game.
This. Half the bullshit CVs can do would be countered if they just fucking flat buffed AA across the board, then hella buffed the AA of dedicated AA ships.

Flambass + FDR = Ultimate Fun Police. This was just painful to watch. So much skill needed I almost lost some braincells.
Worst part is? In the hands of a Unicum the Midway is even better (better torps, faster attacks). This isn't even peak Balans
Yep, Midway's, Haku's and MVR's damage output is much higher so you haven't seen real hell yet

That 'once you get the torpedo plane focus down as far as it goes you can turn without it changing' crap is utter BS!!!
I love how balanced and nuanced cv Gameplay is. It brings so much enjoyment to everyone in the match not just the cv player.
In some CVs it can be that. If he had played the Saipan as uncaring about aa-damage as he did the FDR, for example, then he would have run out of planes before half the match was over. It's only some of the CVs that are utterly stupid like that and give the rest of the class a bad name ;-)
@@clefsan The class also has a bad reputation because it risks nothing to shit on people from the corner of the map without the victims having any skill based counterplay. And because it's a toxic selfish class played by what is essentially potatoes who want to outplay much superior players without them putting in the effort of learning to get better.
@@sphyre1196 well, I can't say you are completely wrong saying these things. I thought similarly to you for a long time and I'm only a very casual player who mostly plays mid tier games and no ranked, so I have no personal experience in getting dumpstered by T10 CVs to draw anger from (though a lot of frustration from playing T5 matches with 3 CVs on each side, which led to me taking a several months long break from the game). then I discovered the twitch channel of a guy called ahskance, who is a CV main with a team support oriented playstyle, and this showed me that CVs (when they are not totally over the top unballanced BS like FDR, MvR and some others) can actually be a good element of the game if they are played a certain way. So if WG could figure out how to reward players better for a more support oriented playstyle, more players would probably go for that.
The only counter to the most broken OP CV in the game, why a Russian CA of course. Who would have guessed? 😂😎

As the owner of a Midway, an Audacious, and an MVR this pisses me off to no end just how much better the FDR is than literally every other ship of its class in the entire game... This thing's damage potential per every single strike is like 2x-3x as hard hitting as any single strike from any other CV, and then on top of the vastly increased damage per strike WG thought it'd be a good idea to also give each squadron literally 2x-3x as many planes as any other of its counterparts in the game too... It'd be one thing if there was at least one other tier X CV on the tech tree at all with even somewhat similar strike capability to the FDR, but no, the FDR is so vastly over tuned compared to all of its counterparts that no other CV can even come close to how easy it is to regularly break up over 200k damage in this thing...
Pisses me off how hard you have to work in every other CV to even approach 150k damage compared to how simple it is in this abomination. Take Midway for example, you always have to be in complete try-hard mode if you want to net max damage. You have to be always planning ahead selecting the most ideal and isolated targets, dodging AA and flak like crazy because losing just 3 planes already cuts your squadron size by 1/3, and all that effort each and every match just to barely break over 100k damage on average. Then the experience in the FDR is like night and day with even a single rocket strike capable of 14k+ damage with 2 fires, and you don't even have to barely sweat the AA that you fly into and over because you got damn near 20 friggin planes per sortie... The proof of just how OP this ship is is staring WG and everyone else right in the face with non-CV mains like Flambass here a mere 6 mins. into a new battle by the 6:28 timestamp and already surpassing 125k damage, yet WG is still for some reason leaving the thing largely untouched by the Nerf hammer. Despite FDR's very well known reputation for being way OP and despite tons of high damage replays just like this one out there for this ship, WG just still sits there with their fingers in their ears like la-la-la we don't hear or see a thing wrong with it.... Even the MVR has received Nerfs now since its release yet somehow the most blatantly OP CV of them all the FDR remains largely untouched still? Why does this thing enjoy such special status within WG that every other OP ship has been Nerfed multiple times by now, but to this day the FDR remains immune to being Nerfed in any meaningful way? I really don't understand how WG is letting this thing stand as is still in game when so many other ships have received Nerfs.

My Midway racks up 120k dmg in 6 mins whilst still having reserve planes on deck... Yup, im gonna go cry in a corner now :')

Checking back from time to time to see whether its worth to get back into WoWs. What I saw here is Flambass decimating Yamatos with his FdR and the only ship taking his planes down like flies being a russian one.
Nothing has changed. WoWs account will keep piling up time on the inactivity timer
Yamato, historicly crowded with AA guns and certainly owning more AA guns than a Petro as a cruiser (if this ship even was in this configuration) was destroyed easily, the Petro not.

yamatos was covered in unreliable inaccurate japanese AA that barely did any damage to the planes when they hit
Had to laugh that it took two of the most OP ships (FDR and Smolensk) to take down one Petro and that Slava came first in team. The balance.

Anyone else think an immediate change they could do would be to remove the suicide bombers? Any aircraft with a smoking engine immediately turns back. It doesn’t get shot down unless it runs through more aa but they don’t keep driving home their attacks “no matter what”

I love the game ...............from a distance. It breaks you more than war thunder.
Every time I think "yeah I might give world of warships a go", I watch a gameplay video with a CV in the game, and go "nah, doesn't look like a game I would enjoy playing".
Kinda like if you had a game called "world of guns", but apart from guns it also had lightsabers in it that could deflect bullets. Sure, you'd enjoy it if you like lightsabers, but wouldn't be your kind of game if you liked guns.... Hope that analogy made sense.

@@mema0005 Honestly, i dont think so. Think about how much time it takes to go somewhere under water, not to mention you have to "sneak" though all the DDs, and cruisers with hydro. Still if you manage that most CVs tend to sit still or hide on the edge of the map (like noobs) so easy pings.

@@mema0005 That would be....very amusing to say the least. Subs will definitely shake things up, the question is how and will the player base be willing to adapt. Like im sure alot of people are gonna try going for the Carriers purely out of spite, but its gonna be harder then they think its going to be. (remind me does the Los Angeles has missile silos or is that just an attack sub?)
When you can drop on average 15k damage on each cycle with no risk to your self, with virtually unlimited planes, its a problem. Hell, at this point it would make submarines look balanced if they were to get added.
Rumour has it that if Flambass ever spawns in the south of 2 brothers the world will end.
even halland didnt do much dmg to those planes than what petro did which further confirms that only russian balans is the good counter to another broken ship
halland AA mounts get taken out pretty easily and since it only has a few of them, it loses a lot of damage from a single dead mount
They should make the "Balance Department" play Yammy against CVs and then let them say that it is balanced...
That would be hard considering no one at war gaming plays the game

And this is with Flambass needlessly and casually sitting in heavy AA while the strike cooldown is still recharging. FDR didn't run out of planes.
Come to think of it, giving broadside isn't an instant return to port with the newer ships, so why should a carrier run out of planes, when he casually sits in the area of his supposed counter?

Console version of wows is no longer a safe haven from carriers. They've finally added them, haven't played a game of the update yet so idk if their like they are in the pc vers
Fun fact everyone, the only part of your AA that matters anymore is FLAK. AA damage is useless do to WG forgetting that CVs do more then just fly around the map. Remember back when the CV rework first came out, when aa damage was random spread? Remember when WG changed it so your AA focuses one plane at a time? Yeah they fucked it up cus all that did was make it so the AA never targets the ATTACK WAVES and uselessly chews though the Squadron instead.
wrong, its the other way around, the only reason flak is effective against FDR is because its slow and the squads are huge

No matter how bad FDR is the Soviet ships in this game are like the complete opposite of anything the Soviets were in WW2.
You know... they did that for game ballance... those aircraft could have carried 5 torpedoes actually... though the normal load was 3 torpedoes... AND 12 x 250 pound bombs at the same time.... so cutting it down to just 4 torpedoes... was ballance

Watching Flambass' team's ARP Yamato be in B9 when it was 8 ships to 4 left in the battle hurt me so much.

@@tumppu1975 The FDR has 21 planes of each type on deck at the start. so yes erasing more than 1/3 (without counting the regen) of the most tanky planes in the games show that FDR is not an invincible monster. If the halland stayed with the petro instead of going somewhere else, even more planes would be gone. The red team got stomped and its not because of the FDR.
How does his reticle do that? Like what are his settings for CV? He gets to skip or watch his ordnance drop. I need to know!?!?
