- My 3 Most Favorite Springtime Desserts
Raspberry Margarita Pie
1 1/2 cup of fresh raspberries (crushed slightly with a fork)
1/4 cup lime juice
1 can eagle brand milk
1 8oz tub of cool whip
1 10 in Graham cracker crust
salt
Strawberry Fluff Cake
This dessert was absolutely amazing!! You've got to try it.
1 angel food cake (13 to 14 oz)
1 3oz box of strawberry jello
1 cup chopped strawberries
1 & 1/4 cup boiling water
2 8oz Containers of cool whip
Assemble per video instructions.
Lemon Pound Cake
2 sticks of butter
1/4 cup crisco
3 cups sugar
5 eggs room temp
3 cups ap flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup of milk
1 Tbls vanilla
1 Tbls lemon
Mix according to video instructions.
Preheat oven to 350° but turn down to 325° when cake goes in. Bake for 1 and 1/2 hours

I made the strawberry angel food cake for Easter and everyone liked it, not too much, not too little, just right! I would double up on the base part and put fresh sliced strawberries on top of the whip cream! I love pound cake, my favorite!
Brought back memories of my mom. She'd also always call sweetened condensed milk Eagle Brand and evaporated milk was always Pet Milk.

@marylawson3930 hey friend. I'm feeling okay. I had my last 2 wisdom teeth pop through last weekend and I can't get into the dentist till my birthday, June 5. I appreciate all the prayers. I don't see the neurologist till June 12 about the tumor on my left temporal lobe and see what's causing the migraines.
I'm sorry to hear you have to wait so long to see your dentist. Seems like it's a hurry up and wait kinda thing in the medical world. Will keep you in my prayers friend.
@@marylawson3930 exactly. A lot of the dentist, doctors, and etc are that way in our area. Some of them are overbooked and under staffed.

In the summer, my mom would make a graham cracker crust (squish up graham crackers, add melted butter & sugar, bake for a few minutes), make jello, put in fridge til almost set up, add cool whip, mix together, add to crust & refrigerate. Sometimes she'd add drained canned fruit. I made a pineapple one last night (with pineapple tidbits). Delish & so easy 😋.
I love idea once in awhile of multi groupings . Want to try all three of these . Especially the pound cake . I have so many memories sitting on the porch late at night with my momma eating pound cake and coffee ❤️

I was chuckling when you said Caroline was disappointed, nothing chocolate - my grown daughter would have said the same thing. And, I was thinking the strawberry fluff cake would be a great dessert to take to a potluck next month - maybe l could drizzle some chocolate sauce over the top.

We make a blueberry pie like the rasberry but we add cream cheese also and it so good ! I will have to try the raspberry. Haley made your strawberry cake for me for Mother’s Day. It’s our favorite

Eagle Brand also makes evaporated milk (which I grew up calling "canned cream"). I didn't know this until I saw Tammy on Collard Valley Cooks opening a can of Eagle Brand evaporated milk.

I have been meaning to make the strawberry fluff cake but can't seem to get all the ingredients in the house at the same time before someone dips into the cake or strawberries. 😮 Bryant talked about how versatile the Raspberry pie was but I wonder how the Strawberry Fluff cake would be if you changed up the fruit/jello - pineapple, peach, cherry, orange?

can we use real dairy whipped cream instead of the cool whip? did you use an entire angel food cake?
These all look fabulous. My family and I love lemon dessert of any kind. Could anyone tell me the reason to use butter and crisco? I have never used crisco. Thank you
Baked goods made with shortening are typically softer and more tender than those made with butter. They also tend to be slightly taller, as it has a higher melting point and doesn't spread as much.
Shortening is flavorless. The finished product's taste is not impacted by shortening. Some people use Crisco, because they ran out of butter...or have butter, but are short so use the Crisco Shortening.
Do you have to keep that pie in freezer till gone??
