  • In this episode of Scan My Brain, Grammy-award-winning singer ‪@MeghanTrainor‬ (All About That Bass) visits Dr. Daniel Amen at Amen Clinics Los Angeles. Meghan discusses some of the anxiety that has crept into her life after fame and motherhood. Dr. Amen reveals the surprising results of Meghan's brain scan and then helps her with strategies specific to her unique brain.
    How is it possible that people who appear to have it all-a successful career, good looks, athleticism, or lots of friends, for example-can feel like they aren’t good enough? Sadly, thinking “I’m not good enough” is a far-too-common thought that can plague people of all ages, income levels, education levels, and cultures. This one belief is the mother thought of despair. It can drag you down and ruin your life by breeding anxiety, depression, and in some people, suicidal thoughts and behaviors. And when you don’t feel worthy as a human being, it can make you feel like your life doesn’t matter, which makes you more vulnerable to engaging in unhealthy habits, such as overeating, smoking, drinking too much alcohol, or using drugs.
    No one is immune to this toxic thought. Look at music superstar Meghan Trainor. She had a #1 song worldwide-something only a handful of people on the globe have ever accomplished-yet she is wracked with worries that she isn’t successful enough. In an episode of Scan My Brain with Dr. Daniel Amen, she revealed that she routinely stresses about her career and forgets about all that success she had from her debut song “All About That Bass.”
    Do you feel this way too? What’s behind this harmful notion and how can you overcome it?

    She's such a strong woman. She has gone through a lot of mental health issues and still manages to show love for everybody, be positive, and help her fans through her music. Such an awesome person

    Remember "don't believe everything you think"😉 That is so true. She is very brave to look for help. I just went to ER for anxiety, I did have a heart attack 2 years a stent was put in. So when I went to ER I said could be anxiety or heart attack, thank goodness no heart attack. Susan

    I have to go get my brain scanned for 2022, to meet Dr. Amen. I have been a fan of Meghan since day 1 and now love her because she Lol is a Dateline watcher. For her to be so vulnerable is awesome.
    I'm saving up to go to Dr. Amens clinic.

    I love this! Meghan, I love the spirit you have, I love the honesty too, so brave to do this in front of people. Your songs are favorites and they keep us laughing, remembering, and thinking. Dr. Amen was first introduced to me by Dr. Leaf and your video reminded me to go back and learn more.

    Was that dent on the underside of her frontal Cortez? I am noticing a lot of injuries there. Is that because it is slamming against the top of the lesser wing of the sphenoid bone? The angle is tell tale when a person gets hit. Wish she would of given more specific details about her head injury. Falling to the side and face down is common in collision sports. I think a lot of athletes don’t know the lesser wing of sphenoid bone can be sharp as a knife. You must see a lot of damage to temporal lobes from head injuries. It’s slamming against that edge. She is so awesome for doing this. She is literally giving medical professionals, researchers and teachers a microphone for there message. She had no idea how a seemingly harmless tackle could ruin or even end her life. Dark thoughts are not fun.

    Wow Meghan is really wholesome. I'm glad she is seeking help. And that she is proud to share her journey. I hope she can start to recover. Is there any follow up on how she has been doing. Much love and support for her. Also it goes to show that being "successful" doesn't make anyone immune to mental health issues. Everyone needs to feel loved and supported on a personal level.

    This is awesome I feel like my brain can relate. You should try and scan Tyler Joseph from Twenty One Pilots brain, that would be awesome. Anyway thanks for your tiktoks Dr.

    She sings songs others write I wouldn’t call her a musician

    • @mjk5254
      @mjk5254 Před rokem

      So when you can perform even with just your voice you are singing what? Music. So she's a musician. What songs she sings may be written by songwriters which is common practice in the music industry especially in country and top 40 pop. This conversation always needs clarity because its a lot more nuanced than first glance.

      "Meghan Trainor writes her own music, though she has worked with co-writers on each of her studio albums. Trainor worked as a professional songwriter before launching her own recording career, so the process of writing songs comes naturally to her." -Kevin Ritchie (celebanswers)

    Like why does he have to wear the white lab coat. Like wtf. He’s like Dr Oz who insisted on wearing scrubs on a tv show. And he wasn’t acting. Nor performing surgery. Dude. We know you’re an MD. Get over yourself.
