    Thanks for posting the RX-8 again. I’d love to see you find the sweet spot between tire size, grip and suspension setup. The sliding looked very fun. My RX-8 has much more grip on the track. Toyo R888R tires and function form type 3 coil overs make a world of difference. Keep working on fine tuning it please! Film the new mods and progress, make us RX-8 owners proud! Hahaha!

    Seeing you in the Rx8 always makes me click faster than ever !!! I am sure you know this already , but that close hairpin brings out the factory induced under steer the RX8's are known for. You can do certain things to get rid of that ... Also please note that the more tyre you give it, both in width and compound the RX8 can fully utilize it no problems ... Your time will dramatically drop once you add serious levels of grip ... Its not the slowest of your cars especially in such a tight course , i can guarantee that ;)

      Can you detail some of the things you can do to reduce that understeer?

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  Před 2 lety +2

      It's just a deficiency of the Achilles ATR Sport 2s. They are low grip tires and this track in particular really heats the fronts up. Once that happens it's understeer city for most cars. A grippier tire would dial a lot of that out but I wouldn't be able to play with the chassis in oversteer either so it's give and take lol

    I wonder how good a Renesis 20B would be.
    The extra displacement helping to compensate for the lack of overlap/low speed torque.

    • @VictorMPR
      @VictorMPR Před 2 lety

      @@callumroper7251 You have to understand first what differentiates a Renesis from a “standard” 20B or even a 13B. The exhaust ports on a Renesis are not in the rotor housings, they are in the side housings. The 20B has a “fat” iron/side housing because of how the intake ports are arranged, and there was never a production Renesis 20B, so there is no Renesis fat iron. So you need a 20B eccentric shaft (not impossible to find) but you also need a “one of” Renesis fat iron and you need to find someone who cares enough to make you one. People have made a 20B Renesis without that 20B iron, but one rotor gets screwed with 2 small intake ports and worse, 2 small Siamese exhaust ports.

    An ajustable sway bar could be nice to get some more rotation for this type of track, and then have it softer for faster tracks or the road. Looks like hilarious fun on the low grip tyres in the end, seems pretty well matched for the ammount of power available. To much grip and flat out everywhere isn't necessarily more fun, even if its faster.
