#1024 is a 1982 Siemens/Duewag U2 Light Rail Vehicle operated by Edmonton Transit Service.
Here, it is seen running the Capital Line northbound between University and Corona stations on July 28, 2024.

Heya, It won't be any longer that these iconic cars retire. I pretty much rode them for many years, and it'll hit hard seeing them go.
but I wanna know a year that these cars will officially be replaced by who knows what new set of siemens cars (i predict the Calgary S200 "Mask" cars)

There's no official year for the final retirement of the U2 units or a replacement model quite yet.
The replacements still have not been ordered, nor has the City selected a manufacturer at this time but that may be determined in the next few months, maybe 2025 at the latest.
However, I predict that the U2's will be fully retired by 2029 so surviving units running to Heritage Valley may be possible.

This was on the Capital Line.
I was headed to the last day of K-Days and I decided to film this on the way there.
I really should be working on getting more recordings of these cars before they retire.
