The scene is so much funnier knowing that Lestat could read his mind. He knew that he was offending Louis and just kept turning that knife as foreplay like only Lestat would do 😂

Sam said that a lot of his not blinking had to do with the contacts & the way they fit. He said for some reason, they took away the innate urge to blink as often as he normally would.

I love when Lestat is making sure the musicians are taken care of by saying, “ Oh, and another round for the musicians whatever they want. They are always forgotten.” This series made sure we knew that Lestat is a musician and a lover of music.
The characters were very satisfyingly consistent. Even mentioning the musicians in this early scene before we even know anything about the character was part of the perfect intro for the audience.

Just rewatched this ep because of this clip and so much foreshadowing of Lestat's temper and jealousy getting the best of him. He killed the two sweetest people in the show, Miss Lily and Father Matthias both because he was jealous that Louis turned to them instead of him.
Yeah... it's also a blatant type of abuse. Isolation. Specifically a type of abuse that narcissists and psychopaths/sociopaths employ. As well as predators. Lestat is all of the above.
There's a better reason in the books. Miss Lily was a murderer basically he would murder those who deserved but Louis and us the viewers don't know that cause of his point of view

He never answered the question about food (human food) and instead talks about the different shades of women that he’s “sampled” (likely eaten). They were “the favorite food.” Great dialogue.

When I first watched this scene, from 2:50-3:16 I felt like I had stopped breathing, I was so mesmerized by Sam Reid 🫠 I actually jumped a little when he said, "Lestat, unpack your trunks! You're home!" 😅🤣

I ❤this scene. Lestat was stalking Louis, found out where Louis hung out, his favourite prostitute and made sure he would run into him. He was full blown obsessed and in love. Shame he killed miss Lily though.

Lestat is filled with such arrogance.
I was laughing more at Louis's brother, though. He was the funniest too, to me.
When he said, with the bible, in his hand and pointing, at the women selling their bodies and their souls

And Lestat did the same thing to him at the dinner table, and insulted him and he couldn't look away from Lestat who was angry and insulted, but Louis brother he held onto the bible and his belief in God, to try and defeat that devil before him.

I know Lestat fell in love with Louis at first sight but I was wondering why he challenged him here and flirt with Lilly?

Kind of hard to explain, but he's courting Louis. This is him essentially preening, like a bird, and puffing out his chest. He's showing Louis that he has money and power, but also that he is the most dominant one in the room. He's also showing masculinity and confidence, and his control. Basically showing how much of 'the man' he is. While showing and telling him that he's interested and attracted to Louis, and only Louis. Now him touching and kissing Lily, while staring directly at Louis, then paying for her to go with him knowing full well that Louis came there for her... is him showing Louis that he himself is attractive, and that others want him. But he has eyes only for Louis, he's making himself a prize that he's challenging Louis to go after. It's also another show of his dominance and power.
He's been following Louis and clearly in his head, learning. He knows at this point, what Louis is attracted to. And he's showing that he is exactly what Louis is attracted to. A masterclass in both seduction and manipulation, skills that Lestat has in spades. And has no problem, using them to their fullest, to get what he wants.

For example, the introduction and card game scene, the way Lestat looked at him was so intense !! I could feel his desire for Louis through from the screen lol
@@alishab88 That's a very good question; did Louis know? That Lestat was hitting on him, in my opinion. I want to say yes, but I feel like he didn't know at the time because, when he told Daniel that Lestat was in love with his city and wanted to know everything about it (he was actually in love with Louis), they were considered good friends. I apologize for the silly opinion, but what I do adore the most is that Lestat was so in love with him that he basically stalked Louis from time to time, especially when he heard his thoughts.

Lestat is bisexual (like in the books), but Louis is gay in this adaptation not bisexual like in the books. His relationship with Miss Lily is explained more in the show.
I can't wait to see Lestat take on this first season, in the book Louis is a very unreliable narrator, and also here, especially after knowing he has been with Arman all this time.

I really enjoy the show but I wish the bite scenes were more sensual like the movie was, more realism to draining. It would make it that more better and real.

Other than changing Louis' color just to get out the type conversations I knew they'd have with a darker skinned man during this time (yeah, I wasn't looking forward to something so predictable), I really enjoyed the over top drama! Lestat is such a diva, while the story of a man transformed into a monster, trying to keep hold of his humanity and compassion is spectacular!

Louis has always annoyed me even when I first read IWTV in middle school (I am 37 now lol). This actor here who plays Louis makes him 1000x more annoying lol. Good job.
Damn bro, they just mangle these classic original stories and change every possible continuity, until is unrecognizable, lifeless, amalgamated reanimation of Anne Rices ACTUAL masterpiece. It's just disrespectful to the dead authors or writer's, who dedicated possibly hundreds of hours writing theses stories. Jesus Christ change the two main characters names, and change the title of the show to, the vampires servant or some shit, that would take away the only two things that relate this to interview with a vampire.

Superman does not need to be played by a super ripped actor, his strength comes from his alien physiology and not from his muscles, this is evident from his Superboy days and that scrawny cousin o f his Supergirl. So using this logic, lets say a movie studio casts a guy who weighs 400lbs to play Superman, and knowing fans will be pissed at this, the studio and the woke critics make the statment that anyone not happy with this casting is just a fat shaming bigot. Now I ask, do you the millions of pissed off fans are going to be pissed because they hate fat people, or are they pissed off because the character doesnt resemble the source material that they love?
You have just destroyed years of psychological movie brainwashing. I guess Startrek is the answer to your question. The vast intergalactic multi verse provided millions of varying proportionalities of human to non human characteristics so maybe there is a universe where beings who look like humans have either trim figures, built bodies or fuller figures to accomplish superhuman tasks. Just guessing....
A 400lb superman would be something else for me, but I think that's only because I've never seen one as superman before. I've noticed it's usually not about the look, it's about the personality. If a 400lb man can project a winning personality for the audience, he may be able to sell it. This is not to say the audience won't notice his size, they just won't care about it. I believe there has never been a time like now where opportunities abound for every calibre of society to covert the spotlight.
@@patmebg3794 personality is only half the equation. You need someone who looks the part. You dont hire a 43 year old to play little orphan Annie, you dont hire an asian guy to play John Henry. Hell, the main reason Constatine sucked so bad was beacuse they had Keanu Reeves playing a character who is blonde and British. You need both looks and personality if you want to please the fans. And yes the fans are the ones that need to be pleased seeing as how whatever project is being made only exists because of them.
As someone who is a massive fan of the books, and have been since I was a pre-teen. As someone who holds all these characters close to my heart. I can honestly say... you want the books, read the books. They're still there.
This is an adaption. To adapt, means to make something suitable for a NEW use or purpose. To modify. Which literally means; to change... An adaption, by it's very definition is meant to be a *changed* version of it's source material. Not the same exact thing.
Even if none of that was accurate, the fact that Anne Rice herself signed off on and worked on this project, before she passed, negates your whole point. Essentially. It is her world, her characters, her story. She created it, and she worked for years to get this show made, literal years. And she was and still is revered, respected loved and cherished by everyone who is working on this show. Who knew her, personally. You "fans" are so disrespectful of her, her work, and her legacy. By ignorantly thinking you should have more of a say, than she does or did. And that this adaption should be made only to please YOU, and what you want from it.
