Old Traditional way to make Walnut Oil and Walnut dye
I extracted Walnut strain, and I help my mom to extract Walnut oil in old traditional way. I used Walnut strain to paint my garden door and dye a cloth. The walnut strain were also used by my mom and neighbor to dye their hair.
We extracted walnut oil in old traditional style on big heated stone. I made traditionally designed stone for extracting oil from walnut paste.
The healthy nutrient rich walnut oil is used to make many dishes in Gilgit Baltistan. We made Chamuriki - the oil mixed with smashed fresh warm chapatti.
My garden door needed its color repair and walnut strain did it magic spell!

We have black walnuts here in the mountains of north, carolina. I've used the husk to dye clothing also. The husks are a dewormer for my livestock.

i miss village life like this, now i live in a flat with all the comfort a modern human needs but i still wish i could just go back to my old house in my granny's village, sadly its not mine anymore, watching videos like this give me nostalgia.
I'm from Indian side of Kashmir and we also have lots of walnuts here. We use the same process to extract oil. Have seen my grandmother do it a lot of time. Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir are similar in culture. We are Dardic people! ♥️

Life in Gilgit and it's parts are similar to my birth place Ladakh. We do similar oil extraction from apricot and walnut. And enjoy with chapati/flat bread and barley flour called as Pheymar. Love to watch your video. Love from Ladakh India❤️

we also have harvested our walnut trees last month - however the market price is so small that even the fuel we used during summer is not gonna be paid off - so we thought to keep the nuts and try use them for personal needs . Wood stain is a good idea - and will try it next year - Also oil is on my "try list"
