I don't do spicy foods well either but to see Eric's reaction- I can almost feel his pain. Kudos for him and Allison on trying new foods out of their comfort zone.
I really enjoyed Ericks face after he ate the chicken. His face looked sunburned and he looked like he had been up for three days without sleep, just run a 10K marathon then found out his cat just died. I really felt sorry for him. Great video though and I really enjoyed watching the 2 of you eating all that great food.
I've eaten peanut butter on my pancakes since I was a kid. My grandfather did it and I do it too. My son does as well.

Girl, you're braver than us! Trying the hot chicken once was enough for us.😂 Next time we'll definitely still get the delicious chicken, but probably with the medium spice 🔥 Also, we definitely recommend eating the popsicles after the chicken instead of before...
haha my hubs can't handle spice either. i've made a few dinners where i thought the spice was fine and he was dying while eating but it was too good to stop haha and that's good advice to eat the popsicles after the chicken!
The Hermitage cafe on 2ND is great for breakfast or an early lunch. Raised around it all my life good food great people :)

Ha! I found your channel from your "things to eat in Europe" vids, turned on the food playlist while I was working, and suddenly you're somewhere familiar! My sister lives in Nashville so I visit at least once a year, and we've actually sat at the table right in front of you at the Pfunky Griddle!

You have to work your way up the heat ladder slowly. Start off with something mild and when you can handle that OK, move onto something spicier. Eventually you'll be able to hang with the big boys and order the Habanero wings.

Absolutely love your videos! You guys both have it all going on: so charming and interesting and have such great chemistry and fun. But Eric, it's like you must unhinge your jaws to stuff those gigantic (and layered) stacks of chow into that slim frame. It's a miracle worth watching!

Great video guys, all looks really tasty. The pancake grill is a neat idea, maybe add the strawberries at the end next time though, ha ha. Hot chicken looks interesting. I guessed you might struggle with it when I saw how red it was. I like spicy food, but maybe a bit too much cayenne for my taste too.

The advice about milk is kind of right but sour cream is actually better with the spiciness, I'm a pepper freak and I always get a heavy helping of sour cream . I'm from tennessee my sister lives in Smyrna next door to Nashville we have eaten at all of these places,cool that you visited ,love yourwork! Have fun!
When eating spicy food drink milk with it. Will help stop the burn. From someone who eats peppers all the time .
Ah Nashville is a great city! That food looks amazing! If you ever find yourselves in Columbus, OH we've got a pretty great hot chicken restaurant.

I tried the mild version of hot chicken at Hattie's last November when I visited Nashville. I am a weakling when it comes to spicy foods though. I had to drink 2 glasses of milk afterwards! Loved the vlog!!

Seriously I would never diss either you guys - or milk. I think what you're doing is awesome. And I'm from Cheshire - we grow cows there too. (Though we don't eat their brains...) But honestly, water's no good for chile burn as capsaicin isn't water-soluble. Hence milk, or yoghurt, or lassi (yum) is best. Though a Hell's Angel once swore to me that sherry was even better. Hmmm...

So glad you're enjoying the adventure! :) As Nikachu mentioned, we got to visit Glasgow earlier in the year and spent some time in Edinburgh about a year ago...both were fantastic! Next, we'll have to head further north and get a taste of the highlands 👍
you should go to Fort William and take the steam train to Mallaig (do your research to make sure you get the correct train as one of them is not steam). its the route that harry potter takes to hogwarts. The Glenfinnan viaduct features in Chamber of Secrets when theyre driving to school in the flying car! You should also check out Loch Ness and see if you can see Nessie ;-) my brother often does trips round the hebrides (islands) and doesnt plant before hand, he gets a ride, jumps on a ferry and either pitches his tent or finds hostels. he loves it and it is beautiful!

I'm sad to say that the only Nashville Hot Chicken we've ever had is from KFC. However, we did love it. So, we're going to have to head to Tennessee and get some of the authentic stuff. It looked SO good!

I was envious of all your food selections except for the HOT chicken. You looked like you got the wind knocked out of you Eric! My tolerance for spicy foods is low also. Those DIY pancakes looked fun. Is it all you can make on the griddle for a set price? It reminds me of Korean BBQ a lot. The hibachi is in the middle of the table and you get to grill all your meat. Unfortunately, you smell like it afterwards. But still, you've gotta try it.
Yeah, that chicken was tough! You can actually cook other things on the griddle too like eggs and potatoes 👍🏻 And this place is the same, you definitely take the smell with you 😂

If the food is hot, you need fat to float the hot oil off the taste buds. A glass of whole milk (or even half and half) will work. Alcohol or water based drinks make it worse.

It certainly seemed that you enjoyed everything you tasted, I just have a couple of questions, #1 what was the first thing you mentioned, unfortunately the background noise overcame your voice and drowned it out, so despite listening to it three times I still couldn't decipher what you said,, and #2 what happened to the Grits ?. At least I THINK that's what you said, I have lived in the US for 12 years now and have only managed to try Grits ONCE in all that time, and that was in New Hampshire, so I was really interested to see if "Southern style" Grits are different to the the Grits I tasted, The only thing I KNOW for a fact that I can't eat is the mack n cheese I like the cheese, but unfortunately the cheese doesn't like me, it gives me a violent migraine headache. OUCH
i tried 'nashville hot' chicken at KFC in Scotland a few weeks ago as they were doing a promotion. i doubt it's anything like the real thing but it was so spicy, and very very sweet. its probably the ONLY time i did not enjoy a KFC lmao
Oh strange...I wonder why it was sweet? But how funny that hot chicken made its way over there! If you ever visit Nashville, you should try it again and get it mild if you're not a fan of the heat. We're pretty sure it'll be a much better experience 👍

What is the BBQ sauce base. Tomato, mustard or vinegar? Here in NC it is vinegar base BBQ sauce. I think I started to sweat a little watching you eat the Hot Chicken. It would not be a complete vlog if Eric didn't say "I'm not gonna lie" :)

Looks like you had some good eats in Nasheville, but never, and I mean NEVER try to get rid of the heat from the spicy chicken with anything other than MILK. Water, coke, tea, etc just won't do.
