    So incredibly cool !
    I've often wondered how this was done, thank you for sharing your work with us !!

    We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version czcams.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

    I had to get my engagement ring resized from size 7 to 5.5. From what I can see they take a piece of the gold out. Does this mean they steal a piece of your gold and still charge you to get the ring resized ?! Because I never got a little piece of gold back.

      I was just going to ask the same question ... I mean think about it hundreds of thousands of ppl a year just in your state alone get there rings resized ... that means over time they got enough gold and silver to make 27.4 pound bar out of .... im starting to feel like I deserve a cut

    @ 4:08 it looks as though a side melee diamond has fallen out. Check your bench pan. I was a bench jeweler for over 15 years, and this is not how I daily did resizing. I cut the piece out, carefully bend the halves close to mating, use a separating disk on the Foredom to square the sides up, mate dip in super-saturated solution of denatured alcohol and boric acid, burn off the DNA, solder without sinking in water with high karat white gold solder, let cool, quench in pickle solution, clean and polish. Replate with Rhodium after polishing - that's the standard USA way to do this.

    • @cavemanjoe7972
      @cavemanjoe7972 Před 2 lety

      Same process, but you cut it, then bend the sides outwards and add material to the gap by soldering, then file, polish, and finish the same way.

    • @tigerfury0209
      @tigerfury0209 Před 2 lety

      @@cavemanjoe7972 Nope, you could do that or just use the ring stretcher and have it done that way.

      @@tigerfury0209
      It's not a 'ring stretcher', it's a mandrel, and using that method thins the ring, which isn't good for higher karat gold rings, as well as taking more polishing after.

    • @putir7021
      @putir7021  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey sorry for the late replay ,well depending how much the ring needs to be upsised ,and the type of ring .
      Sometimes just the stretcher will do the job ,sometimes the ting needs to be cut open stretched and a piece of metal inserted

      I have to get a Tiffany platinum ring resized. The standard size was a size 6 but I’m a size 9. I also have diamonds running along the shank of the ring. How do you not damage the integrity of the diamond setting that run along the shank? I worry about those stones no longer being secure.
