This is an absolutely beautiful anthem---my first landlady was Latvian (many years ago)---and she was delightful. I do wish I knew more Latvians, as they are fantastic people!

God save Latvia ... that's a bad excuse ... the time is overdue for Latvians to save Latvia. Time for Latvians to really pull their fingers out to get on with the future, instead of living in the past. Today's economics / practises of todays world are not those of yesteryear. I wish I had answers. The kriev ex-KGB oligarchs are almost gone; putrid is despied in ruSSia. It's been 20+ years of renewed independence. Latvia ... take the bull (bear) by its horns and forge forwards in independence.
