Thanks for the video! I'm really enjoying this string of EotU videos and especially on Freeplay since there is just so much customizability here.
I figured I would note this: Putting landmarks on Pre-set means the freeplay game will function more like a campaign level, and landmarks won't be placed at random intervals. This is why in your playthrough here, lignocellulose (the dead vegetation - termite food) wasn't spawning more throughout the map. This is also why those Termite NPCs became less frequent and resulted in the Matabele AI colony running out of food options and had no choice but to raid your lines. While Pre-set landmarks tend to be more enjoyable, which is why there were two bullfrogs already spawned in your playthrough, it does mean a difficult mid-game for the Matabele species. Balancing is being done by Slug Disco when possible, but the current build content creators don't have some recent changes and will likely be further addressed in a later patch. For now Random landmarks will easier in some aspects for the Matabele and Termites. The AI for both species is still also a WIP since both have a unique food source and playstyle.
I would suggest giving the map 'Imprisoned' a try. It's a Swamp map that features a unique flooding system which will initially put all colonies largely safe from each other, but then later briefly put all four colonies into confrontation. Pre-set landmarks fit the map quite nicely but food can be a bit of a struggle if not managed correctly.
The map 'Sand Spit' is also a fun one. It's a beached-themed 3v1 map. It can get a little difficult with pre-set landmarks, especially for both the Termites and Matabele, but still a map worth trying in the future.
Your donations made these vids a priority, so thanks!
i used to watch your older videos alot! glad to see your still doing empires of the undergrowth! [one time during the leafcutter or fire ant update i had a dream of termites being added!!!]
Awesome video! I really enjoy the termites and the Matabele ant. The termites food production is sufficient in freeplay on medium they’re extremely difficult to use when your food is far and either near enemy ants or behind spiders or webs. It’s like how do you get built up at all when you get destroyed when you move lol. The developers can the termites “Ants” the duration of the game but aside from sounding silly it’s nothing big. Spawning with outside your mound in this video is the best fortune ever! The developers have placed rock stacks that Matabele ants can farm termites from with the stacks alternating and surprisingly the Matabele ants thrive and I’ve found the termites are much more likely to draw the short straw despite being pretty tough and hard hitters. The termites make me want to play pervasive fire ants, as they’re great in all circumstances and can best all other ant types efficiently. I hope you do upgrade the fire ants since it doubles your numbers while increasing their stats lol. Thank you for your content and take care 👍
finally u saved my searching history! ur doing freeplay with termites ty ty yt
I’ll probably do more videos if the view counts on this video and the others go up a bit. Tell your friends! :)
@@DadsGamingAddiction i will
Also upgraded termite workers majors can carry 5 times the food, so 20 upgraded ones can haul like 100 upgraded ones, I enjoy playing many ungraded ants but I feel that style is why I had such a hard time. It’s a fun game and I’m looking forward to getting the termite efficiency pegged. Have fun bud!
Major Workers carry 3 times per the wiki under harvest amount, unless they have a special ability I'm not seeing. Either way though, they were cool to mess around with. :)

W dga
When people they you to upgrade the termites they specifically mean the minor and major workers because upgrading them makes them way better minor workers make more fungus and digest more and major termites collect a lot more plant matter and upgrading anything makes them tougher and won't die as much so that you don't need to keep replenishing them which costs food
Thank you so much for showing this off
Anytime! :)
@@DadsGamingAddiction I believe that the secret ant in new game plus is the bullet ant
Yeah, I saw that in my press email, just couldn't remember what it was called.
Make more major termites because their boost stacks and because they are really strong
cool video
Do you see new Uber swamp creatures
what is up keep?
Something they added a while back. Build cost of a creature type goes up the more you have of them.
" Upkeep is applied separately for workers and soldiers. Workers give 1 point while soldiers give 1% of their original building cost. Building cost of the respective group increases exponentially along with its population after you reach 100 population points."
Oh so that’s why my worker ants start to become super expensive if I go over max population! Thanks a lot!
Yeah, if you hate that mechanic then definitely disable upkeep next time. :)
dga the matabele did absuloty nothing because they cant get food because they need at least 2 of termite mound to feed the gameplay was boring because the matabele had no food and the ai is horrible playing
