Honestly I find Automatons easier to fight. The bigger bugs just become bullet sponges and the bile just ruins me. I guess I also just find it easier to fight enemies in long range combat rather than the swarming mess the ol bugs leave you with.
For some reason, I much prefer playing against the Automatons rather than the Bugs, they keep jumping on me, spitting, bouncing me around and I just get bullied.
