      Dear Asian Boss
      There are racists online who justify celebrating nukes and Earthquakes in japan on innocent civilians because of the japanese army war crimes and japanese civilians being ignorant.
      until they realize earthquakes and tsunamis blow up nuclear reactors polluting the sea.
      Then they get outraged , creating hysteria at japan for not preventing earthquakes on reactors polluting their seas.
      Then they rebrand the japanese people as "deserved radioactive scum on us to be hated on anyway" telling them to "drink it first".
      This is how Chinese and korean nationalist ethics work online, who dont care about their actual victims and they are dangerous to own moral discourse.

    The fact that the young Japanese in the interview doesn’t even know about Nazi, and from the experience of knowing some japanese younger generations, plus the banning of Oppenheimer, I believe (actually, also heard from my japanese colleagues) they don’t teach these topics in school a lot, if not at all

      It makes sense though. Americans learn a lot about American history, British learn a lot about British history, other countries have theirs. There is a lot about American history I do not know and vice versa and the same goes for history of other nations around the world. No one knows everything and the history you think is important and famous is not in other countries and is more of a general knowledge fact than a taught impression. I know little about Japanese history and that of which I do know, I was not taught in schools but picked up here and there over time. I was not taught about American history thus Oppenheimer was not part of my knowledge from formal education in the UK. I imagine there are lots of places in the world who are not familiar with the Nazis, but it is a big part of our European history so we learn about it thoroughly.

      @Laaaaaaaaaaaaala Před 5 měsíci +21

      @@CuracaoChicthat doesn’t make sense though. Japan was one of Nazi Germany’s biggest allies, I think its mostly to not teach the younger generations of their sins. thats also why they haven’t apologised to so many countries that they have wronged the past century or two.

      Yeah. Germans visited South Korea that exhibited colonial Korea under Japan, and essentially they said "if it doesn't benefit them [Japan], they won't do it." So, evidently, it's a lot of under-the-rug culture regarding this stuff. And recently, a Japanese-American I talked to said that the Japanese view on their culture is on par with how US Americans view their culture because even in the United States, we miss out on a lot of war crime we committed to other countries and the truth about Columbus. I learned about Columbus' true history as part of Spanish class!

    • @yianko2090
      @yianko2090 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@CuracaoChic What I mean is that they do not teach their younger generations what they’ve done in the history. British schools don’t teach their history of colonising tons of countries, and Japanese don’t teach their younger generations what they’ve done alongside with the Nazis (it sounds like you are an European so I’m sure you know they were allies)
      Also…it’s called WWII for a reason. I am not European, American or Japanese, but I learned it in school.

    The Indian accent is EXTREMELY difficult for Americans to understand, which makes me wonder if they did an American accent would it be easier? The problem is if I do an Indian accent it is perceived as racist, see Apu from the Simpsons. How weird would a call be if I was doing the Indian accent for their benefit and they were doing the American accent for mine.

      2 billion Asians don’t know about the Nazis. Why would they? Nazism and the Holocaust is a totally western concept and western historical event. Asia had its own genocides and despots. Asia wants time to heal all wounds and forget these tragedies.
      But in America, lobbying groups like the Anti-Defamation League appropriate symbols and colors and try to ensure Americans (and Asians as well) never forget about the Holocaust.
      It’s an interesting interview that should hopefully enlighten many Americans.
