- I’m a CPST who reviews car seats to make your search easier. Don’t forget to check out my review of the Baby Trend EZ Lift 35 PLUS as well!
I’m also on Instagram and Facebook (@Thecarsafekids)!
Praise God hallelujah thank you for your video I'm getting to take my baby boy home today with my wife from the NICU and I needed to know how to detach the car seat from the base praise the Lord hallelujah
Congratulations on your little one! I’m glad the video helped!
I'm very nervous about searching for a quality carseat with a stroller, finally got this.
That’s awesome you like it!
I feel so dumb asking this. But I don't understand how to do the baseless install like what am I comparing the level lines to? I have this exact car seat and in a few hours I have to take my newborn with me to go to the vet in a different car than what the base is in and I just rewatched this video because thanks to you, I used this video for the base install and now I'm so nervous for doing the baseless install. Baby is 3 weeks old and less than 22 lbs. You helped me so much with this video so I really appreciate your content but I am just confused about what I'm comparing the level lines too, to make sure it's level when installing without the base. Hopefully I can get a reply before I have to leave 😕
You match the level line to the ground. And you’ve got this! I was nervous the first time I installed my son’s car seat baseless as a new mom.
Just installed and I feel like it moves a bunch but everything has been tightened to the max. This is my first and I’m just overly nervous.
It can move up to one in and you only check at the belt path.
However this seat was difficult to tighten. I liked the seatbelt install better with it as it was easier to get it tight enough. The lower anchors were hard to get tight enough. I would find a CPST in your area to meet with (I’ve attached a link below). Unfortunately I’ve found baby trend car seats to be difficult to install correctly.

same
Now how tf do I remove the base?🤣
From the car or to get the car seat out? To remove from the car you have to loosen the lower anchor straps then unhook or unbuckle the seatbelt depending on how you’ve installed the seat.
To get the carrier part of the seat out of the car push the grey button at the back behind the suncover at the same time you lift straight up (believe me I looked like a fool trying to get this out the first time. It was stuck because the harness was hanging since I don’t have a baby/doll harnessed in it 🤦🏽♀️. But it can be very difficult to get the carrier out.
@@Thecarsafekids when I pull the release lever it doesn’t wanna come up and I can’t pull hard on it cause I had a c section a week ago with my newborn Gabrielle, it’s her car seat I’m struggling with but my first born I never used the base of a car seat.
Right . I’m trying to figure out how to remove the base from the car seat because it’s making it 3 times heavier 😭😭
You have to pull straight up. This seat is a huge pain.
You have to pull straight up while pushing the release lever. The Otherwise it won’t come out
This seat is only rear facing???? Previews model Works with front face too.... this not??
The Baby Trend EZ Lift35 is an infant rear facing only seat. It will not work front facing and would be very unsafe to use front facing. Almost child who is old enough to front face (2+ years of age and meeting minimum front facing requirements of the seat) would have long outgrown this seat height wise at the very least.
I hate this car seat because how tf do I adjust the straps so it’s not suffocating my baby shoulders
It is not one of the infant seats I recommend expecting parents for many reasons.
Have you moved the straps up a slot if it’s now below the baby’s shoulders? Also have you moved the straps out to the next slot where it attaches to the splitter plate? And have you moved the crotch buckle off newborn routing?
(One of the reasons I don’t recommend it is because of how many changes you have to make to the straps as baby grows 😅)
That's right I change twice bec. Baby grow fast.😊😊
Where did you clip the hook?
Are you talking about the lower anchors? There is a location on the bottom of the base to clip them for storage if you’re doing seatbelt install.
The manual has a good diagram showing this. It is available on the baby trend website
I bought it. But couldn’t detach top and bottom parts. Everyone show how to put in a car, but no videos showing first main steps 😂
On the back of the car seat there is a handle that pushes up. Right behind where the sun cover ends. Push the release handle and pull up with the carry handle at the same time. I do take it off the base in the video so watch my right hand. You also have to pull straight up with this seat not at an angle or it won’t come off.
Read your manual cover to cover. It has a whole page on how to release the carry seat from the base.
@@Thecarsafekidsthank you lol
You’re welcome!
Problem i am having is one second its leveled and i go check it again and then its not leveled
This seat is a pain to get level. Only check on a completely flat surface. If you’re on an incline disregard it being off center. The recline level is so finicky.
If you keep having issues the baseless install is easier to get level.
@@Thecarsafekids i got it now. My driveway was on a incline
I’m glad it was an easy fix!
@@Thecarsafekids yup just in time because we are at the hospital and hopefully our baby comes tomorrow as we have been here a day already.
Congratulations! I hope Everything goes well.
How crazy is 2024 when you have to wash a stupid CZcams video to remove a base from a car seat is that just ridiculous I'm surprised anyone from the 1970s on were are still alive
Thais seat can definitely be finicky for removing it from the base. I’ve heard from many it gets stuck and I’ve experienced it too.
O.m.g stop whining and get to the install...
I’m sorry you disliked the beginning of the video. I am also reviewing the car seat. There is a lot more that goes into it than just the install. That being said. You’re welcome to skip ahead to the install of the seat.
@@Thecarsafekids I finally did
terrible video .... Should have had some practice presentation first .... Not off the cuff
Thanks for your input. I’m definitely no actor
