We also went to a garage sale where I found another incredible score in 2 signed and numbered art prints, and we wind up finding even more valuable treasure at a church sale!!! Hello Karen and Rob, I am a collector of fossils, minerals and crystals. You bought a very nice fossil which I have. It is a squid like water creature 400 million years old called an Orthoceras. I love watching your videos. I think this is your first fossil. I even have a 6 inch plus Megaladon shark tooth. Very proud of my collection. Keep the videos coming. Trudy in PA, USA

We have those fossils too. They are Orthoceras fossil tower, multiple cephalopod fossils. You got a great deal on it Rob.

Rob . The fossils you have are the shells of Orthoceras. They are an extinct form of mollusks and can be as okd as 365 million years. I like fossils, rocks and crystals to.
Beautiful Orthoceras fossil! Rock Shops charge quite a bit for fossils as the piece gets larger.
Where do you put everything you get. You must have a really big house. So nice that both of you share this interest. My husband of 48 years and I only share the bathroom.
Here in the states Pandora is not cheap. My husband bought me the bracelet and a bunch of charms for Christmas a couple of years ago. Love it
Liked your finds. Know that your mother loved the stool. It had nice leather carvings. The fossil was an unusual find.

You should have a magnet with you, to test the unmarked pieces of jewelry. If I'm remembering correctly, gold and silver will not stick to a magnet. Other metals will. It's not foolproof; by it would help narrow things down.
Pandora bracelets sell for 50 and each chard between 20-30 dollars each. You paid well but undersold. I would have picked up in a minute for 20 dollars. I have two and before you finish filling it, it’s about 400 or more dollars.

Car boot sales are big in the UK. I bought 2 brass wall sconces sets and another 6 Smithsonian Baldwin brass candle sets all for total, of $60. I was told brass is out of fashion, where I think it is classic

Yes, we paid $15 or $20 dollars and this was probably 15 years ago. Looks exactly like yours. It's proudly displayed in our living room.

Orthoceras are an extinct cephalopod closely related to squid, octopus, and nautilus.

A carboot sale is a new idea to me. In the US they would obviously ask, "What's a carboot", but it's a very novel way to have a yard sale.
It's even be nice to get a piece of glass, that's about 1/4" thick, cut the same shape of the leather, to set on the leather, to use as a small table or plant stand. That way it's still usefully, but you could still see the beautiful design, tooled into it.
I hope you guys have photos of everything in your house with appraisals, and lots of insurance. Between the antiques, furniture, jewelry, furs, cameras, books, etc. Not to mention the house itself. Keep all the paperwork in a safety deposit box.

@@alanatolstad4824 in the mountains in Hollister CA. On friends property, and on some privately owned beaches. I found some petrified tree and Fluorite while digging in my yard. Then there's the poppy jasper I found on a friend's property in Morgan Hill and that's the only place in the world to find that type of jasper. Other than antiques and Collectibles, I like fossils, gems, and minerals. I studied archeology and geology back in the day.. that's why I'm such a nerd.🤓
Rob you should have started at $5 for the fossil - I think she would have taken it.
