      I'm making a prediction it will be a 4 stroke turbo twin with 270 degree firing order with around 210 to 220hp. Yamaha has this type of engine in their arsenal and can build it around 1000 to 1100cc. That would be awesome 👌

      129 for sure (for me) I like how the chassis reacts with the shorter sled regardless of brand. 137 would make for a better touring sled, smoother and more room to pack stuff on the tunnel.

    Another great review! With a few days away from ordering 2025s, I’m torn between the 129” and 137”. I like the idea of a little more playfully uncoupled skid but when the boys start pushing the pace I need to turn. You feel any push with 129”?

      I prefer the 129 it seems to react just a bit faster. Both are great and the sled can be setup for either track length. If all out pace is your goal its 129 all the way.

      The 129 is a freaking slot car on trails. I rode both 129, 137 and 146 during the Catalyst photo shoot a year ago. The 137 is a great trail sled, but the 129 is a weapon. They're both good, and I bought a 137, mainly so that other people would enjoy riding it - a little better in bumps, coupled rear suspension, a little better handling in loose/fresh snow. Buying one just for me, I would've picked the 129.

      The Titan is my favourite helmet, even in the deep cold. I use a balaclava and a No-Fog breath deflector to help seal out the wind. Also make sure you have good goggles. The 210s that come with the Titan work well.

    Correct me if ‘am wrong was Yamaha sled or engine build in the Artic cat assembly plant. Now that Yamaha is ending there plan to not build any sled , maybe there a little bit of that Yamaha voodoo engineering in the New Artic Cat sled. Great content.👏👍😎🇨🇦

    • @jeffsteenbakkers4435
      @jeffsteenbakkers4435 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Arctic Cat built all the Yamaha sleds under a supplier agreement and Yamaha provided engines to AC for their 9000 series sleds like the Thundercat. Yamaha is done after 2025, but will continue to supply engines to Cat for their sleds beyond 2025.

    • @MrSkurtenb
      @MrSkurtenb Před 7 měsíci +1

      I’m confused why some people think that the procross is a Yamaha sled built by Arctic cat to yamaha specifications. Yamaha has not made a sled in a few years. The procross is an Arctic cat designed snowmobile, and the difference between the two are the clutches and skis. In the four stroke models they use the Yamaha motors, in the two stroke options it’s the Arctic cat motor.

    My father got the catalyst with ATAC nice sled but seats way to hard. That and iv rode back to back with my 17 ZR600r XC and I couldn’t say what one i like more. Do they feel different definitely did it equal to being better idk. I raced cats for 15 years with many wins and championships like to think i would or could tell if ones better than the other idk.
    600 definitely feels strong but so does my 17. Catalyst feels more roomy sitting on it but soon as ur riding my knees where up against the panels just like any other sled including my pro cross. I was also riding a 850 doo same day and felt great. Todays sleds have gotten so good it’s hard to find much wrong with any of them. Idk if the hype is just hype or if the verdict is still out but as of now im still happy with my pro cross. Definitely like the seat better on a long day the catalyst seat is just to hard. We all lined up on the lake my dads 850 doo my buddies 800 cat i was on catalyst. I shot out the hole like a canon ball took to 60mph for dad on 850 to catch me then the 800 cat not long after . Then the doo just pulled away along with 800 cat doo is very fast faster than the 800 cat.
    All 3 studded catalyst still in brake in mode. Had not had a chance to race catalyst with my 17 Pro cross XC but im going to predict very close race. Im a cat loyalist but always going to share the facts no matter what brand or model sled. probably have over 30,000 trail miles and hundreds of SX and XC races under my belt. Do i like catalyst i do but not ready to run out and buy one yet. If money was no option i probably would just because there the newest thing out there. But still very happy on my 17 ZR 6000r XC and my old 300hp 2011 Z1 sno pro. That and winters here in upstate NY haven’t been great specially this winter it sucks. But anyone looking to buy a new sled I believe the catalyst will make anyone very happy except maybe the seat.
    Great show as always really enjoyed
    Thank u.

      Skidoo took some heat in 08 for the seat being too hard on the XP. I bet as the Catalyst moves into more of the lineup a softer seat will be an option just like the Doos back then.
      It’s interesting you found the speed of the new sled comparable to the 17. I suppose max power is pretty close between chassis with the same engine but was hoping there’d be a bigger difference with the lighter Catalyst. How is it on a long ride for you? Any easier on the body other then the hard seat?
      Lets hope for more snow!

      @@jeffsteenbakkers4435 didnt get to ride Catlyst all day was switching back and forth from my buddies 19 ZR 8000 and dads 850 doo so all day can’t really say. I couldn’t say what sled i like best all rode and handled really well. The catalyst might of turned a little better than pro cross but hard to say was so close. Top speed on catalyst was not good wasn’t perfect conditions for speed average id say. 81 mph was it i had F6’s in spar chassis that would hit 100 on same conditions 105 on ice. Idk why the Ctech has no top end same with my 17. Iv owned 3 Ctech 600 XC racers now. My 15 went 96mph 16 went 93 my 17 89-90 lol!! Iv tried some clutching speedwerx clutch kit some of my own clutching with not much success. Last few years been playing with my turbo sleds haven’t done much with 600. Have it torn apart now pipe mod heads Vforce and going to port and balance pistons. Dynojet everything to tune hopefully soon have back together.
      Like to find out why the 600 and 800 just stop pulling on top. The catalyst feels the same way lots of power for a 600 but no top end. XC racers out west know how to get 105-10 mph with pro cross so there is a way. Maybe if seat was better the ride would be better have to believe it would be. My father just made a custom seat for catalyst cant wait to try. I haven’t had enough time to really say that catalysts isn’t better than pro cross if it is its not much. The Doo 850 is a really nice sled to ride slow to moderate better than cat. But hammer down the cat seams to make bumps disappear. Not that doo is bad still really good at any speed. Like to ride a Polaris matrix a little more havent had much time on one.

      I have 300 miles on mine, yes the seat is very firm to start, but definitely has softened up a lot. Some other owners have said not to worry will only get softer with time. I remember my other sleds were firm to start, but always soften after being used. As far as the power I have lined it up against a 21 ZR 8000, I took the hole shot and the 800 could not catch me or gain any distance up 90 mph. The power is real from 0-90. Top end I saw the same day was 97 mph whereas the 21 8000 hit 100. Overall it is a very fun sled to own and will give 800’s all they want, and just few mph on top end. Will be fun to see the 858 in action next season.

      @@BB-tg3rl 81 mph all iv seen lined up against 800 hole shot till around 60mph then 800 pulled away at 97 he said he was going. The seats not going to soften up enough for my liking its like a rock been riding since I could walk im 45. Never had a seat this hard iv owned many sleds its harder than my MX bikes. Hopefully cat will offer a softer seat for next season like ski doo does. Im a big guy 6’3 250 pounds weight could be slowing catalyst down a little idk. All i know is on hard packed snow i saw 81 mph 2 mile stretch. Iv owned 4 c tech 600’s all of them pull hard till 80-90 then stop. My fastest one was my 2015 96 mph on ice. My 16 93 on ice my 17 90 on ice. I know something is holding my C techs back just have to figure it out. The engine on all my 600 C techs feel very powerful hopefully i can find time to work on top end. Glad u like urs beautiful sleds and ride and handle great. But not that much better than my pro crosses did or does. Maybe a little more time I will change my opinion but as of now the verdict is still out. It is the same rear suspension so im not really surprised front end little different but not much.
      Iv ridden most every sled made cats been my favorite since my 2003 firecat. Haven’t had lot of time on Polaris matrix but the Axis i did and i personally think my cat was much better. Ski doo i cant find much wrong with them but still prefer my cats great sleds just don’t know what they were thinking with the catalyst seat i hate it.

      @BB-tg3rl Před 7 měsíci

      @@joshgessinger4509 I did get the 129 track and with it being uncoupled the ski’s did stay off the ground along way when lined up. Not sure how much that mattered, but I assume that would help with the jump, but yes 800’s definitely have more top end power. I was in an area with low snow, and I am sure the results would be different in softer snow. Well hope the seat continues to get softer as he uses it, it definitely seems softer ever ride. Just need the snow gods to help with this weather, sucks to wait all year to ride and not have trails open.
