Hi loves! I hope you enjoyed this #rollerskating competition vlog. I was super nervous for my first day of competition, since I was competing at World Class Freestyle level for artistic inlines. The nerves really got the better of me and I didn’t skate a good program, and ended up being 2nd 🥈 However, bad days make for great learning experiences: I understood I shouldn’t let the stress get to me, and instead focus on the joy that skating gives me. On day 2, I started with my Open B Creative Program on the Nutcracker and ended up being 1st! 🥇 Last but not least, I skated another Freestyle event in Sophomore B on Penny Dreadful, and I skated my best program ever - I even landed my first double toeloop in competition! I ended up finishing 2nd and I was so happy 🥈 It was an intense weekend with days starting at 6 am and ending at 10 pm (honestly don’t even know how I’m alive right now), but it taught me a lot about myself, skating & handling stress. i couldn’t have done it without the support of my coach, moonlight teamies & all of you wishing me good luck - so thank you 🥹

Can you talk more about how you started competing? I'm 26 with a figure skating background too and I just got artistic inline skates - but there is not much information out there about them! Do you compete against quad skaters? How do I know what level I would be considered? Etc.

You needed to speed up your movements just a tad as it looks like your motion to tempo was off - made you look mechanical rather than graceful. The ability to feel the music and translate that into movement will be what elevates you. :)
