I love how loyal this man is, even though his leader/god killed him, albeit by accident, he's still just it's ok, and wants kratos to continue

I love this part of the story because it means he was a mortal burning with rage and going to kill Zeus. Something kratos could relate too.
I know Its secondary canon but in novel Is writen that Zeus bring last spartan to the Island in hope He will tell Kratos truth and Kratos will give up, which almost happend if Gaia did not motivate Kratos
I LOVE the detail of Kratos just screaming whenever you press an attack button even when the Kraken is right there. Like he's so mad that even the player's inputs are ignored. Little touches like that is what made Kratos such a memorable character

I love the fact that even in death, The Last Spartan still helped Kratos take down the giant Kraken. If it wasn't for him, that fight would have been a loooot harder, albeit maybe impossible.

I have a theory, but it’s a wild one:
The reason the Last Spartan was so strong and powerful was because he had a tiny portion of Hope in him.
Maybe Kratos, through having faith and hope in him, indirectly and unwillingly empowered the Last Spartan with a bit of Hope. After all, he was the only one Kratos could rely on.
That, or he’s just a badass Spartan.

The level design in this game was absolutely incredible. Your end goal is in site for most of the game and you slowly get closer and closer, solving puzzles that physically alter the environment. God I remember this game blowing my mind

This scene is easily my favourite in all of GOW, the moment his brother dies in his arms, Kratos shouts Zeeeuuuss, letting out his frustrations on him, and then the transition of the epic orchestra in the background while Kratos turns around to another beast with absolute no fear what so ever knowing it’s another obstacle to defeat, is just all round perfection! So underrated and gives me chills every time I watch it!

He wasn't wrong to exterminate the Olympic Pantheon, but it still exacted a harsh price on the mans soul, and it nearly brought all of Greece to extinction as well.

Tbh I love how ppl are saying in the comments that Kratos isn't a spartan when if they actually played the games and really delved into the lore in these games they would know that Kratos starting out was born and raised as As a spartan. dj ace Actually Kratos was born outside of Sparta. Him and his mother were chased away from their city and had no choice but to relocate to Sparta. There is a video here on CZcams that has every single cutscene involving Kratos' lore that states this from a cutscene in game.
Not denying that I still consider him a spartan though. Him and his brother trained relentlessly to be considered as such and earned the right to be called that through all of their feats. It still doesn't change the fact that he was not born in Sparta.

When posiden was killed the ocean flooded everything, when hades died evil souls broke loose, when the sun god died the clouds in greece blocked the light, and by the time zeus was killed everyone and everything in greece was dead. It's a sculpture of the Phoenix meanwhile the one in gow4 is a bird exclusively from Norse mythology. I forgot its name but the way it functions is that every time it flaps its wings it creates cold, freezing winds, it's basically why Hel looks like that.

I love the whole god of war franchise. I just got finished watching Ragnarok. I'll never forget this game. It taught me so much. Long Live Sparta. Stay strong boys.

Me too. Three was ok but that's when they stared to takeout the things that created immersion. 4 looks great and the story is good but is it more than a play b through it once game? Not in my opinion.

4 overdid it with trying to make Kratos feel all sentimental and forcing it as a new thing. It's not new, he's always been a father with depth.
The only thing it did better was change the combat system, it's far better, but makes Kratos seem a tad bit weak.
2 is still the best for me
The boss Battles are far better, the environments are far larger, and the story was better to me than the repetitive Father and son storyline we've seen countless times in all sorts of media.
Happy it won GOTY but people overrate it.

Even if the game is old the art direction and music is top notch, God of War actually has so much lore behind it if you take time to explore it.
