  • I had just done an inspection on this hive 2 hours previously and it actually was given a Queen cell when it was made 3 weeks ago. As I was walking to put all my tools away I saw the swarm in the air and watched to see what was going on and realized as they returned to that Box it was a mating flight for this Queen. She is ssfe and sound back in her hive. We are only about 4 days into our golden rod fall flow with 4 to 8 weeks until our first frost. It is going to be close on build up for winter survival, but they should be able to.

I can hear the bees buzz in my headphones, cool. Thank you for taking care of the bees, they are vital to us. I love them.

What's more satisfying than a queen coming back, I love it.

Great video, thanks. Our bees here in the UK do just the same! Very fine set up you have. 😊

Great job! Its amazing to me that you can handle that frame bare handed with no issue. They must feel your calm energy. Keep it up. Im enjoying working through your videos.

Well Done 👍! From a Florida Transplant, Southern IN native. You have a beautiful place there. Keep up the videos, you have a lot of interesting things going on. I’m sure your viewership will keep rising!

Is it possible for queens, during the time of the mating flights, which may be over several days to maybe a week, to start laying in between flights?

I have a question. Why our bees don't return to its box after the mating flight? Instead they swarm in near trees

Sometimes they will take a break. Seriously. Is it a tree nearby? And sometimes the queen will go on several mating flights. Just give them a little time. If it is a true mating flight they will return to the box.

    Are your hives all nuks?

I have both large hives 10 frame and nucs. The nucs are for when I need to pull resources from A big hive to slow down swarm instinct.
