I have one of Chesley Bonestell's art books. A fascinating and pragmatic portrayal of spaceflight and yeah, if you think about fast technology has changed in the past century compared to previous centuries, it's an amazing time - historically speaking. He would've loved to see SpaceX's Starship tests today!

From an era where children grew up dreaming about being an astronaut, Bonestell's artwork was the starting point for our imagination. Just about every sci-fi movie from the 1950s used stock footage of a V-2 launch to show space travel. Good work, Sebastian, gonna go visit Ancient Rome now!
I visited Paul Allen's science fiction museum in Seattle shortly after it opened. Several of Bonestell's paintings were on display. They were stunning.

Thanks for giving Chesley some screen time! His stuff was beautiful, and often based on the actual scientific concepts and proposals of the tone. I first heard of him because he designed the concepts for the excellent TV series Men Into Space. Well worth finding and watching!

To launch from Earth you need to be long and narrow but to land on the Moon you need to be short and wide. They will never land a cigar on the Moon. It's too heavy. It will topple over on a rocky and uneven surface. The thrusters will be in the dirt which will play hell with them when the blast stirs up tons of debris.
The LEM worked because there is no air in space so you can land a refrigerator on the moon if you want to...but sideways.
Also Fred Freeman and Rolf Klep illustrated for the Colliers space series. Would you feature their works too?
Mars's sky is pale blue as it's mostly CO2, as we can see from the recent images, only during sand storms would it appear orange.

I'm a huge fan of Chesley Bonestell's art. But to compare that and Von Braun's Sci-Fi imaginings to what we were able to acheive with Apollo, and call it :"almost a joke", is an insult to all those people who worked on Apollo, inventing the technology along the way. While there's been a big gap between the last Apollo moon mission and current attempts to return to the moon, the technology STILL doesn't exist on almost every level to come close to those early visions. I would suggest that you consider editing your voiceover script to give the Apollo program and it's builders the credit they are due.
hahahaha. if you think SpaceX is landing on Mars in the next 10-15 years, I've got a few bridges to sell you.
