      Some of you guys are salty af. What about this process screams wealth? A lot of people in blue collar jobs are allowed to use their employer's/shop's fab equipment. First off, what he did is fucking inexpensive; concrete is $6 a bag and iron/steel is ghastly expensive. He used less than $50 worth of metal to create the mold and now he can build as many as he wants and sell concrete plates if he wants. He made perfect consistent plates. There's other ways and all you need to do is look on the right side for the related videos.
      If you're pissed because of his methods, YOU ARE NOT THE INTENDED AUDIENCE.

    • @FrainFreeze
      @FrainFreeze Před 4 lety

      @literally not z depends on where you live the price can be much much higher, even for used ones (if you can find them at all). I got myself almost identical mold made out of fiberglass, paid 50$ at a local boat making shop, and for 100$ total I have 440lbs of weights AND Olympic bar length of steel pipe. If concrete breaks another 440lbs are just 30$ of concrete mix and few hours of work away.

    • @FrainFreeze
      @FrainFreeze Před 4 lety

      @literally not z if manufacturer didn't list the details about cement hydration you can test it yourself. Once you have approximate idea how much water will stay in the mixture you can weight the dry mass and water, if you do it equal every time the final cured mix will be 99% same, and you'll probably hit your target weight right into kilo. Personally I don't care how heavy they are as long as they are pushing my limits, I just make sure they are both the same weight (which I do by preparing two identical mixtures).

      This problem is actually fixed by using a tire as a molding. You create a bottom using styrofoam to keep the concrete from leaving the bottom, use 2’ pvc and stick in the styrofoam to keep upright throughout the process and fill the tire 🤷🏼‍♂️ you can buy different sizes depending on the weight you’re aiming for, and getting the same tire repeatedly assures the same weight as well. Most local tire places will let you take beat up tires for free because they can’t patch them well enough to drive, but them being in well enough condition to drive is different from them being good enough for weights.

      Manhell 831 depends on the concrete. I flip after 4 hours with quick set. I could flip after 2 but I choose 4 to be safe. Flipping doesn’t necessarily mean the concrete is one hundred percent dry inside, it’s just to get it out of the mould to dry faster. A tip is if the concrete starts to turn white it’s getting dry. If you can knock on it with your knuckles and hear a little “ponk” noise you can flip
