You’d think the game would actually keep going after the dialogue with the “No messages.[English]” error being shown again since Vivian doesn’t actually do any unique animations and she’d just randomly show up in battle because reasons but I guess not (it’s probably hard coded to provide a Vivian-only response after the options vs the error text used for goombella before it which isn’t hard code - and since Vivian isn’t there, it crashes). What if you obtain the lowercase P after you’re progressed through Chapter 4 normally after Doopliss 1 but before you meet Vivian (the first time you encounter doopliss as fake Mario) and guess it correctly? I’d figure either the game immediately crashes after doopliss freaks out because Vivian is supposed to say something afterward and instead of there being a “illegal” partner there to bypass this with the No message error it just soft locks/crashes on Mario standing there since no one is with him. Or it proceeds normally until you meet him at the top where it then crashes because of the same reasons above but softlocks because no one is there to provide a response to him.
The moon jump code is so cool in Thousand Year Door, just don't ground pound while your doing it or you'll float up off the screen and self lock the game. I know this fron personal experience

It makes sense, as the game from randomized loading zones shows that the game checks and alters the state depending on where you are to make it not contradict the logic too much
I think it’s personally funny cuz when you have characters or do something before you meet the character needed for the scene, the other character you have will just say “no messages.[English]” or crash because they’re not meant to be there in the scene originally
Can you text storage in the cutscrene that vivian is supposed to be in to progress. Like if you open a text box and close it after the option selection can you cause the game to advance to the next scene or something?

Certainly seems to indicate that the purple coloration is a result of a coloring function, rather than a unique texture!
