Very true, but it's tough playing behind a generational voice.
I'm 59 and my generation didn't and doesn't take Neil Giraldo for granted. He is a great guitarist and a very accomplished writer and producer. He done it all and hasn't slowed down yet and I'm writing this in 2024.
Definitely, seen him a few times... kicker was the time I was at a guitar show a couple years back and look next to me and the shock of recognition... who is that!? It was him, admiring the same Les Pauls... saw him next year putting them to better use then I would have.
I get goosebumps from this song and tears in my eyes!! She is my all-time favorite and I was able to see her in 2003 .. and she rocked the house !! 🔥🥰🔥 (side note: this is my favorite song and she opened with it!) ❤
Pat was like 48 years old here, looking and sounding freakin' killer ! She's just a bad ass rock n' roll chick, always will be, and Neil is just the perfect guitar animal to match with her.

I got to see her in concert in Savanah Georgia and she was and still is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! I forgot to mention that when I was was stationed in Germany I would play her cassette in my portable radio and do my physical fitness to it. Thank you Pat Benatar for helping me get through a 36 month tour in Germany.
Benatar's vocals and performance are exemplary, as usual.
I've been into SRV, Clapton, Gallagher, Vai, EVH, Satriani, Eric Johnson, Blackmore, Iommi for years but Giraldo's guitar playing, as exemplified in this note-for-note perfect rendition of one of the most energetic and melodic rock tunes of all time is one of the reasons I have bought and listened to EVERYTHING that Pat Benatar has ever released. The other reason is Pat Benatar.

Neil and Pat. The Dynamic “Rock” Duo. Mad respect for their choices made, within the music industry. The fight to put themselves and family above all else, has been an inspiration to their fans,( like me) who know what that takes. Strength of conviction and trust in each other. I for one will be,” All Fired Up” to see them hit the road, one more time this year. “ Invincible!”
P.S. EVH, RIP, and Pat ( with Neil) broke at the same time, 77,78. They were the two most unique guitarist touring in that moment, in contemporary rock. Both could fill sonic space in studio and live, by themselves! If you like it loud, this is for you.

Just about everyone in the guitar world during the '80s knew Neil is a badass on guitar. Additionally, his best talents may be in production and arrangement. The great Tim Pierce has even talked about how much he learned from Giraldo.

As good as I first time I heard this many years ago.
That right there folks is what a next level masterclass group of talent looks like! The "music" today, while i can appreciate that it clicks with some people, cant even come close to this. 57yo male, so yes, old to some, not at all directed to Taylor Swift or anyone else in particular, just the state of music in general.
I couldn't of said it better, the state of new music out in the world is truly saddening as compared to 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s.
