  • Created from the same robust foundation as its predecessor, the SIG MPX GEN II Air Rifle has been updated with modified furniture and controls. Now featuring an M-LOK system handguard, flat blade trigger, reduced angle grip, a redesigned buttstock and a low-profile recoil pad. Chambered in .177 pellet and complete with rifled barrel and flip-up sights, the CO2 powered SIG MPX GEN II Air Rifle keeps you on target while delivering 30 rounds of semi-automatic firepower down range. To achieve peak performance with this air rifle, we recommend using SIG SAUER or equivalent premium pellets with a grain weight listed below.

    I’ve owned two of the Gen 1, the first one lasted about 3 years, and about 22,000 shots fired. My second one is aleady at 20,000 shots and still firing. For the price it’s worth it! I’ll be picking up a Gen 2 soon.

      I had two Gen 1's. Sadly the reliability was shocking - but that said, SOOOO much fun that I was about to buy a third when the Gen II was announced. Happy times.

    Screw the facelifts and features. Did you fix the malfunctions of the internals? The super loose tolerance and that pin that keeps popping out from the hammer that allows the co2 to go thru?

    • @brorjordas1979
      @brorjordas1979 Před rokem +5

      The firing pin issue got fixed from the Virtus and onward. The firing pin is now a threaded and threadlocked pin. The firing pin on my Virtus at least sat tight af. The pin now is screwed into the hammer from the rear of it.. I'd say that there is no reason to worry about that issue anymore.

    I have this in what would be considered the "gen1", I guess, and its awesome.
    Accurate, well made, and the belt-feed system is great.
    I mean, you cant go wrong with a 30 shot magazine.
    The only complaint I do have is that I'd like to see the FPS come up a bit.
    Otherwise, this airgun is a lot of fun and pretty much identical to the firearm.

  • @OmarGarcia1
    @OmarGarcia1 Před rokem +4

    I can confirm owning the gen 1 and now gen 2 that they didn't fix the internal problems. shot great for about 100 rounds and now it jams after every shot. so disappointing because it has so much potential.

    • @brorjordas1979
      @brorjordas1979 Před rokem +1

      You've had both a gen1 and gen2 disassembled for comparison?
      I've been so interested to hear more about the subject - but I've not gotten any much info on the gen2 internals.
      I own the old .177 co2 MCX, the Canebrake and the .22 Virtus. And for now, the Canebrake and the Virtus are imo the absolute best choices to decide between (in case not want both, as I did).
      The old .177 MPX/MCXs just had not a large enough of a plenum tube for efficient use of air - nor as big of a hammer as the Canebrake and Virtus has.. Just been wanting to see internals of a gen2 and decide if it is at all worth it..

    I got the small CO2 cartridge adaptor, use one per mag. I fought through some weird "break in" sorta period. Learned about the mag position and slop, put a scope with laser and bipod on it. Now, 5 years later, my dirt-colored Gen 1 is one of my favorite plinkers. Loves the cheap Daisy pointy red packs @ 25 yds. I had kinda given up on it, was too frustrating to cycle. Now: me like.

    • @brorjordas1979
      @brorjordas1979 Před rokem

      Yea. My old MCX jammed lots with wadcutter pellets when it was new. Shot it in using cheap pellets with a small domed head. Had no issues whatsoever. Later on it started cycling Gamo Match wadcutter pellets very good - and even accurate at distance. Seems to be good to get it worked in at first.

      @@sendmethisnow3106 I purchased the sig rifle new, 500 bucks almost, after the first 20 rounds which were problematic running standard .22 jsb's the gun jammed in a way where the mag wouldn't release, a pellet got jammed between the belt and the breech so the mag could come out and a rod couldn't push the obliterated lead back in to the belt, I contacted 2 sig email addresses and after 2 weeks no reply, as I've gunsmithed for 30+ years I attempted to open it up myself to inspect to find anti tamper screws preventing the casing from being disassembled, I drilled those out and retapped with new screws, found what I expected inside and repaired the rifle, took it back out in the field and it did exactly the same thing after 5 rounds, I then took it in to my local RFD for inspection and repair and they after 2 months had fixed the rifle, they said that sigs UK version manual trigger reset attempt was causing cycle issues causing inevitable jams as a spring was missing and the trigger mechanism wasn't the usual shape causing the cycle to stick, it's a design flaw that sig wouldn't admit because of a huge mass product recall! My sig now has the German rifles internals when it comes to the trigger and I also had to purchase a brand new magazine because the original was chewed up by the rifle. This costed me an additional 170 repair and parts and 50 for a second magazine. I've read online from so many sources that sig won't take responsibility, they just don't care. Branded by sig and made in Japan, I'll never trust the sig brand for any air gun again that's for sure, better off with China unfortunatly, at least Julie at snow peak in China responds and offers spare parts! Little Chinese manufacturer of budget guns exported globally does more for it's end customer than sig sauer! = sig sour.

    Naaaaa Sorry Sig Air Div!
    Go back to the drawing board, after ALL the returns you must have had on fixing the main problem! (Air cylinder becoming loose in the frame housing)! Which will in time "lock up the mechanism" You STILL have not made the upgrade for the Gen2 MCX MPX Canebreak models.
    Until this problem is sorted out, I will continue to inform the masses NOT to buy these toy's! Question: why are the lugs on the Virtus .22 not replicated on the .177 versions? As this would have prevented so many of the issues that the .177 versions suffer from?! Sort it out Sig your reputation is on the line! So people "wait out" until this problem is sorted and get the SBR instead for some fun. I will leave my comments about spare part availability for another time!
    Footnote: I have had my MCX since 2018 still very accurate and I LOVE IT! However I am an engineer and I can fix and service the thing! Most people are not engineers and it is their hard earned cash they are spending in good faith to Sig Sauer!
    Sort out the problem with the design issue and spare part availability, or I will continue to preach my sermon to the masses!

      Hope you ordered the gen2. Oughta have the all latest improvements. I'm at least interested to see n hear what all exactly has been changed. So far the Canebrake seems to be the best 4.5mm co2 Sig rifle to date - with it's good capabilities to use both co2 and air.. If the MCX gen2 has same internals as the Canebrake - then I'd absolutely would want a gen2 MCX myself, because of the longest 4.5mm barrel option, and the good internals for use of HPA.
      I've had an og co2 MCX since 2016 (modded, broken n fixed thru the years), had a Virtus (my definite favorite of them all) over 1.5 years - and now I got a Canebrake (which I can run on HPA since owning the Virtus and adaptive parts).
      Dunno. But I hope you get a good one.👍🏻👍🏻

    Anyone thinking that you can put your trust in the sig brand when it comes to ALL of its Mpx Mcx Co2 or hpa rifles - Think again! I spent 500GBP.on a brand new Virtus model pcp which failed after 60 shots, trying to contact sig in regards to it is a complete joke, they will not take responsibility or accountability for shoddy japanese assembly, the poor quality pot metal components not even debured! Plastic one off components that when snap you can not find or purchase spares for, seals that fail and have been installed in such a way you can not replace them! I have been a collector and user of air rifles for almost 30 years and every single sig owner I know has had feed errors, jams, internal parts failures on EVERY Mpx and Mpc model, this entire episode of sig concept is a pure scandal and blatent con! Regardless of how many plinking you tubers you've seen with one, the random reviews of a new owner you will also find as many videos uploaded concerning and about the failures of these rifles and how sig will not respond! If you are the tiny minority that does get some after sales service you'll be given another rifle after a lengthy wait after returning your original one to them - which will fail on you again! Even the butt stock buddy bottle holder and front hand guard of the virus model (made of some sort of brittle polymer) cracks and splits at any position where these sticks are bolted to the main action! My Virtus having no response from sig is and has been with a repair shop now for over 1 month already for it's second repair attempt! SO anyone considering parting your hard earnt cash on a sig branded, japanese constructed, probably Eastern European manufactured bellow standard cheap materials - Avoid! it's not a "bad batch" nor bad version situation it's sig themselves, they offer zero spares, zero replacement parts and will not even admit these models are failures! Too good to be true? A chain fed fast firing hard hitting semi auto that runs on hpa or Co2? YES when it comes to sig rifles, it's is too good to be true! In all honesty the mpx alone is a scam and the Virtus a complete piss take! So what's your alternative? I'd suggest a Crossman sbr, a different animal but at least you won't be flushing your 100's of bucks down the toilet! I know one thing.... I will not touch or ever recommend any sig air weapon to anyone - ever - period!
