Talk about Hero of the South, if you retrace the flashbacks you will recall in one of those, Eisen brought him up and talk about should they pick up the pace, and he was also refering him as the strongest hero of the time.
Hope you enjoy the Frieren storytime! I tried my best with pronouncing and of course I won’t pick up on every detail in the chapters but I’m here for the good time and good read, these are such fun videos to make I love doing it! 💖 even if I do really miss Richter…………..
You don't need to apologize for the pronunciation. I do like that you put in the effort to get it right; It shows your attendance. In the end just don't get excited over not getting it nailed. You read the story for yourself foremost.
So. The demon king potentially knew that he was going to be defeated, unless that demon who can see the future hid it from him. Im sure we'll get a crazy plot twist at some point. BTW you'll love chapters 71-76. It's a mini arch you might also want to read together.
Hot take: The Hero of the South was stronger than the entire hero party combined. Hear me out - the party struggled to fight the Sages four on one (if you know, you know), and couldn’t even beat a lesser demon like Qual. But he fought against all the sages AND the demon king’s right hand man, managing to kill four of the strongest demons aside from the demon king. If Frieren’s party encountered all seven sages AND Schlacht at the same time it would’ve been their journey’s end. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hero of the South could have soloed the Demon King himself, if he didn’t to face the sages and Schlacht. I think he might have been a greater hero than Himmel. Himmel was partly motivated by accolades. The Hero of the South sacrificed himself to carve the path for others to gain the glory and save the world. Only Frieren knew that he went to die willingly. No human, elf, dwarf, or demon has ever surpassed him in power level before or after. I hope we’ll learn a bit more about him in the future.
Serie looks menacing at you. Regardless Krafts deeds are all forgotten so we can not judge him on a power level either. So we meet some pretty powerful characters already that challenge the claim. But yes if it were the hero of the south alone against the DK he might have won that, but that is not how this fate thing works out. So he is destined to never reach the DK in first place and for that he never could have beaten him - if that makes sense. So he had to sacrifice that others could achieve what he would never. It is like Serie could never achieve to beat the DK, even if she would had all the powers needed.
If you’re up to date with the latest arc, you know that even mages as strong as Serie are vulnerable to fast warriors. Assassins that could threaten Frieren or Serie would be like flies to the Hero of the South. One thing I know is that I can’t see anyone else in this world who could face eight Great Demons at the same time and kill four before dying. The most broken party in the Frierenverse would be the Hero of the South as the vanguard, Serie as the Mage, Kraft the Monk, and Sein as the Healer. People knew he died fighting the sages but only Frieren knew he kept going knowing his sacrifice was necessary for Himmel to make it. That’s what makes him a greater hero.
@@mozesimanjuntak4155 "The most broken party in the Frierenverse would be the Hero of the South as the vanguard, Serie as the Mage, Kraft the Monk, and Sein as the Healer. " - oh yeah. Yes i read the to the last chapter that is puplished as of now in june 2024. All I wanted to say is, it is hard to compare the power of a mage to the power of melee fighter. Yes by the mentioned advantage a fighter would overwhelm a mage, but that doesn't say because X beat Y, X is more powerful, just that X most likely falls short to Z and X beats Z and that part isn't introduced to use as of now. So I reserve a judgment of power level. But that shouldn't be a statement of seeing the Hero of the south as not powerful. He truly is, but even he got overwhelmed by his fate.
Yes it is very confusing when two characters clash that have precognition. And more so when one goes into his fate and doesn't "change" it. Or all his effort to change it will in any possible future scenario lead to the same outcome. 23:09 In the Chapter 64 Frieren says: "no, not a soul", when asked by Stark: "There is nobody here, is there?" looks like foreshadowing that the "priestess" is a fraud and in fact a demon. I wouldn't have picked up by the drawing of her looks that she is not mourning. I love the panel where Frieren steps on snek and in the background Stark and Fern are trembling in fear - they are marked by the time when Stark got bitten by the snake and only Sein could heal him. And we get a handholding - involuntary, but it counts. Nice read. You did very well in the pronunciations. Since you have no reference from a voice actor it is good. (About Schlacht - in this chapter the translator used the a with the two dots over it "ä" - since there is no word "schlächt" and "ä" is equal to "ae" it is either schlacht or schlecht. Later in the manga Schlacht comes up again without the "ä", but at this point it also could have been a awkward translation and the author ment "schlecht" which has the meaning of bad or wrong in german. In any case I think they will settle with Schlacht)
Yes!!! Ok when I was editing this video I noticed Frieren say not a soul and I had a feeling that’s what was meant by it! Also totally forgot about Stark almost dying from the snake bite haha that’s a good call back, totally fair he doesn’t want to be near snakes
You have to be prepared for most fights in Manga to be very short. Anime expanded on it, but AFAIK mangaka did say that they have trouble visualizing and/or drawing (this falls more on the artist) fights. So only really big ones get the full treatment. Majority of fights are 2-3 panels. It has it's own charm, since action isn't the focus of the Manga, but that might also give you false impression that majority of those fights are short and easy. Which most of the time is not the case. I'm almost certain that the fight against "Sword Demon" had more panels in the Manga than Stark fighting the Dragon. Also translation seems to be a bit odd, though people saying stuff like: "It seems Fern doesn't like..." and similar is a Japanese thing (or at least very popular thing in Mangas and Anime - subtitles often omit that), when in English people would normally say: "It seems that You don't like...". It has a lot to do with familiarity and being respectful yet close.
@@jannegrey593 yes that makes sense, I always relate Frieren to Lord of the Rings but it’s so similar in LOTR books the battles feel so short and in the movies they are expanded upon so that makes sense I’ll think about it kind of like that from now on! Also for translations I started using VIZ after this video I think so translations might be better!
Hero of the South face 8 strongest demons at once and kill half of them (also here you can see nice little teaser to all Sages of Destruction) Just to pin down how cool this is - Seven Sages are at best (for our side) at same lvl as Frieren and members of her party. In worst case - whole party is not enough to defeat even 1 of them

Don't worry about pronunciations, as matter in fact they are clues of a huge puzzle that no one fully solved yet.

When I read the demon with the sword thing part...
I was like...
"WAIT... THE SPELL THAT LET'S YOU SEE THROUGH CLOTHES...... WAIT, HOLD UP..."
Thanks for doing this series!
No problem! I’ve grown to have a bit of an obsession with Frieren so I’m so happy to be reading it

@@mozesimanjuntak4155There’s nothing that indicates that Sein is better than Heiter especially since Heiter has feats as a priest that are unrivaled.
My only question regarding that battle is how the Hero of the South dealt with Macht's magic, or if Macht even used it offensively at all.
Real advice: Read chapter 65 - 66 - 67 in one vid
Okay I’ll do that! Thanks!
Green could be an unripe red apple. Thus the spell could be used to keep apples fresh and unrotten indefinitly.

My theory is that Serie and Kraft know each other from a long time ago and were in the same party at some point.
i don’t know about the same party, but they definitely know each other. I can’t wait to see Kraft again!
Thank you for the reactions, really enjoying it. Looking forward to the next chapters
Looking forward to the coming chapter's, hope we get to the last chapter published

I’m just patiently vibing, Frieren is so good. Wait until your schedule is better for once a week.
Imagine if the hero of the south teamed up with Serie
His name is Westley and he's portrayed by Cary Elwes
even though all these flashbacks are in the past, Himmel gets more handsome as the manga goes on. weird.
finallyy someone reacting to the mangaaa....u'll love the upcoming arccc...peak of frieren
also ur cute
I am just looking forward on how they'll stretch out that fight with the demon
10:56 all of the Seven sages boast outrageous magic… be warned.
8:00 he’a a badass. I love the lore!
Great video! I hope you can catch up to the manga.
4:57 OF COURSE SHE’S IN!!!
Good reaction, I can't wait to see when you reach the arc of Macht el dorado it will be a complete masterpiece
hero of the south my GOAT
It is greate!
If you continue to read the manga I must warn you, because you will scream like those girls that saw Michael Jackson on a stage.
Hiya hope u doing well Lindsay
yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
It's the same like button Himmel pushed, after all. If I refused, all his efforts would have been wasted.
25:45 he definitely is.
Oh btw, the reason why Frieren is insisting that she can't beat the demon king is that she experienced defeat by M**** 500+ yrs ago
even if you censor the name this it's still a spoiler dum dum
Don't use piracy!
Are you going to make them work for free?
That's disrespectful to the original author.
