Is it possible to get speakers with good bass without having to install a separate subwoofer?

You can get reasonable bass output from 6.5" components but nothing like the power and punch that a real subwoofer can provide. To get solid bass requires lots of air to move so big cone area and plenty of power to get the cone moving to high excursion. Physics, really.

It's possible but it's not good for the speakers to play bass, I'd suggest just getting a smaller sub like a skar ddx-10, with either skars 10" ported box or find a good sealed box if you don't want it to take up as much room.
