About my work - I remove beaver dams when I receive an order from a state organization.
I do not choose which dam to remove. It is decided by officials at the request of nearby residents. Each dam is assessed in advance if it can and if should be dismantled.
Removing the dam is not a threat to beavers. I do not remove their houses - lodges.
Dams are removed only in places where beavers cause damage, for example by flooding nearby fields, flooding the basements of nearby houses, or when the stream on which beavers built their dam is degraded.
Even though beavers are very invasive animals, they are under strict protection in our country.
I personally like all animals, so beavers are fine too.

It's like the operator is using his own hands to remove stuff, his ability to operate the machine is an art.
One of the best ones I have seen. Done fast and well done. Big change short amount of time.
Can’t help but feel a bit sorry for the beavers, but then again they’ll just go back to what they’re best at. Building a new one!

My son and husband have gone to watch the Tennis Australian Open today with plenty of cold drinks, sunscreen , sun hats , food etc.

The beaver is the most tenacious animal engineer.
Beavers are a Keystone beneficial species, they raise the water table and replenish the under ground aquifers by allowing the water to slowly percolate through the ground soil and not run off into rivers and the oceans, you should probably leave the Beaver dams alone.

Of the ones I tore out with a excavator the beavers didn’t build back in the same place. They would upstream or down but not in the same place.

How many roads were flooded downstream, it's more neighborly to release at a lower rate
Wow, that dam was a piece of art! Even though I fully understand the need to remove these dams from certain locations, it wouldn't surprise me if you sometimes feel sorry for the beavers when you encounter a dam as wonderful as this one. A lot of good, hard skilled work went into this. Nevertheless, seeing how much land had been flooded and how much water was still running off of the top of the banks, also makes clear the erosion they can cause to the river banks and farmland etc.
Around me are mostly trout streams you’d have to get a lot of permits to do that.
