American Ambassadors to the Jazz World! These guys are TRUE to the old time jazz most of the world had forgotten about. Resurrecting old hits with extremely proficient musicians, these folks revive music so we can again enjoy them with the same appreciation and enthusiasm as when they were first played. Thanks for posting.
A: That little girl had has great hair. I'm 60 yrs old and just jealous and, B : never thought I'd say "That was a great washboard solo." But there you have it! Great band! Eric
Love this one...man that guy on the clarinet or idk it's so great and the trumpet the washboard pretty great and the VOCALS killer...banjo spot on so dixy. And the trombone so vital and to your bones makes me feel the music in my soul and the guitar soulful really gluing it together the harmony of collective musicians VOCALS just artistry...a gorgeous vibration that comes into your eyes and ears and settles in your soul and bolts to your moving parts cause you can't help but wanna shake something why even the dead hear this they GUNNA get up and dance I guarantee..I reckon this is what has always given me new life, like an old bouquet of dried up dead roses I hear this music and it breathes oxygen and all things vibrant colorful joyful soulful and rightness back into this girl. For that and this and this and that I thank you from the bottom of my heart ..
This song is "Everybody Loves My Baby", composed by Spencer Williams, 1924, with lyrics by Jack Palmer. Louis Armstrong, playing cornet with Spencer Williams' Blue Five, recorded an important version of it that same year and the Boswell Sisters recorded it in 1932.
HOW CAN PEOPLE KEEP WALKING BY AND NOT BE FROZEN IN AWE ....I AM GOBSMACKED THERE ISNT A MOB OF PEOPLE GATHERED AND CHEERING ....AMAZING BAND STELLAR MUSICIANS SINGER SO AUTHENTIC AND JUST SO WELL SEASONEDLIKEOLD SOULS..WONDERFUL.
WOW - discovered this after watching ‘Lost Dog Street Band’. I love the way the 2 ladies kick their feet around, reminds me of Flapper girls. Damn how tall is that banjo player. Keep the tunes coming please. And that smile on Dizzy’s face at 3.14 at the end of solo - beautiful.
Washboard players don't seem to need any musical talent to play and I wonder if they get a full share when splitting up the meager gig receipts? It would be nice if the City of New Orleans provided a stipend to help struggling street musicians since they help the tourist industry.
@@sireugenecourtney5797 Making the washboard sound musical and great is hard work! Dizzy is surely talented one of the best along with Robin (their regular wash player)
Shaye, you have a beautiful voice - first time I hear you speak in Spanish and you have a BONITA VOZ, BEAUTIFUL VOICE no matter what language you speak
The whole group is awesome as always. I'm amazed how Jon Doyle players the clarinet and the tenor sax ~ he is awesome on both and really gets into the instrument that he is playing. I could talk about each and every musician; but I don't want to be boring. You say you're on the banjo ~ looks like there are two banjos. :-) I've watched these videos so many times; I bought me a washboard and I'm working on getting it put together; although I don't think I could ever be as good as Dizzy or Robin. You are all super musicians and thanks for the great music and entertainment. Best wishes and God bless you all.
Strong performances by the clarinetist, tuba/euphonium, and the gal on wash board especially on this one. The singer could heard (not always the case) throughout... and if I may say, has great legs. ;-) You guys are great... keep up the good work.
Desde qe vi este grupo me gusto sobre todo su cantantante no me canso de verlos cuando vienen al socalo de la ciudad de Mexico saludos desde coacalco Mexico
That's Dizzy on the washboard, and yes, that's me on the banjo. Barnabus on trombone, Ryan on banjo-guitar, Jon Doyle on clarinet, Erika, bass drum, Todd tuba. Mini-B on cornet!
And that clarinet he's playing on, what kind of metal clarinet is it? I play tuba, but I've got a metal clarinet for fun and such. Also, good idea on NOT bringing the BAT (big a$$ tuba) down south. I sometimes wish I'd have my 20-j with me in Macedonia right now, but I'll find a helicon, I have to!
He really has Chops on the clarinet they all are incredible, been addicted since I found them 3 months ago now working on starting a NOLA band here in Hawaii..
Erika-You are one of the greatest vocalists of our age. And I know of what I “speak.” All of TS is exceptional. And an in-depth analysis of what you-Erika Lewis can do with your voice is nothing short of spectacular artistry as organic as it comes.
I am a huge fan of Tuba Skinny. Of the hundred or more tunes I've listened to them do, I can recall only one rag. What I'm saying is they are a jazz band, not a ragtime band. Thanks much for the upload.
I remember seeing those black and white hanna barbera cartoons with ragtime music, or my gran pops reel projector of those old bands . . . man you guys nailed that sound
Esta banda siempre me ha gustado, la escucho continuamente. Desde que vi este video llamó mucho mi atención la chica del lavadero, de verdad su talento y personalidad cautiva. Felicidades!
ive always considered the washboard to be like a tambourine .. something you give to the least talented player .. but Dizzy has made me feel different She is very talented and makes it sound great
everyone loves Dizzy the washboard queen ... so now i ve seen her in this band YesMaam and Mr Gun and the pistol packin mamas ... kinda makes me think she plays with who ever is out there playing ???
I knew TS was heading south of the border amd was hoping it would all go all right. So it was great to see this video.thats for uploading it. And yes , shaye never ceases to surprise. what a star!

Love the washboard solo! Underrated instrument, that washboard.
Awesome 👍. Imagine the practice put in.
Точно! Yes!
She's so good
Gal on wash board is fantastic!
Erika keeping time and singing - so good to hear Erika sing
These people bring tears to my eyes! I love listening to everything they do.
Me encanto cuando dicen " somos tuba skinny , venimos de New Orleans y tenemos cds en 100 pesos ". excelente !! I love that
Wow, they are all over the place. True buskers right there, just going where the music takes them through the streets & farther. Great stuff.
Nothing but smiles listening to this🤗👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤙🏽
I don't understand, every time on radio wrong kind of music , sound like auctions, this is real music I can listen all day! Thank you Shaye!

Almost seven years ago? And three years since a comment? I'm passing this on! Fabulous TS!
Wow! This is amazing! The whole band is brilliant! The washboard player seems like one of the best I've ever heard :)
Who is she? Has she performed with TS since 2012?
@@ianjeffery6744 I don't know? I was hoping someone could tell me :)
Washboard lady if Defne "Dizzy" Incirioglou. She's been with several street bands in NOLA. She's really talented, and really beautiful.

Great job on the washboard solo!!!!
You cats are a pleasure to listen to, and the City is lucky to have you. Thanks for making me dance with my morning coffee.
That metal clarinet is played by a musician who knows what he’s doing really well. Not the same as a regular wood or plastic clari. Kudos!
Me encantan!! Los adoro, son excelentes, buenísisimos!!
Abrazos desde México.

DAMN-someone who can really play the washboard!! Couldn't do better myself.
Thank you for this great performance. I love it!
It's great to see young people out playing stuff like this. Too many of our youth are stuck on the phone.
I love this band! so beautiful
good Spanish from Shaye, and the best washboard playing on CZcams.
Fantastic !! Thank you so much for your excellence and sharing !
Washboard woman hits the bell without looking. Sweet solo!
Paul Gibby it's not a big deal. Ray Charles make a career without looking!!!
