It's very good attention to detail (or me looking into it too much) that whenever Atreus turns into an animal it represents what he is discovering about himself. When in danger or angry he turns into a bear, a symbol of power and rage showing that he is losing his temper. Then whenever he forges his own path he turns into the white wolf representing an alpha wolf leading his pack, or in terms of the story, trying to lead his own story and control his own fate.
So when loki turns into a mare, it is about his gender identity discovery?

My favorite one was when Atreus returns from Asgard and they were fighting Hel-Walkers. Just as Atreus was about to get mauled by one, Kratos impaled it with his spear and told his son "off your back" (Spartan reference in Ghost of Sparta). Next thing the player is switched to Kratos again, and daddy goes to work! 😎

I love that Kratos taught Atreus to heal himself. It comes with the territory of being a God, you can heal on your own if you know how to focus enough to do so.
Kratos was finally treating Atreus like somewhat of an equal, they had a much stronger bond than ever.

Gotta love how Kratos and Atreus instantly powers up when the other is in immediate danger. In the first game, Kratos unleashes his Spartan Rage without hesitation, multiple times to save Atreus - like the time when an Elf abducted Atreus and when he collapses because of Modi. Here, it was cool to see Atreus use his bear form to save Kratos from Freya.

i think something that i find really cool is that a bear- while a perfect example of brute strength and force in nature - is one of the best mothers in the animal kingdom. mother bears are some of the most protective and fierce mothers you will ever come across. this is even proved at the beginning when the sow dies to protect her cubs from atreus.
while he turns into a bear when he loses his temper, he does it also when someone he knows or cares about is threatened which leads to rage born from the instinct to protect whoever is in danger. he empathises and puts himself in others' shoes and hesitates to fight or to kill something because his compassion wants him to help and not destroy. the bear is a perfect example of the kind of power atreus can achieve when he gives it all he has PROVIDED he can use it on command and control it, but it's also an example of his compassion as a person. he's a really good kid.

loki by himself isn't known for physical strength and all that, so I guess Atreus inherited more of his mothers genes cuz comparing his strength to his dads strength is like comparing the size of a microbe to the size of a galaxy
@@yrvjutrtubxsyi his mother was still very strong. He is just young still he is a teenager. For a god/giant he can still grow and is no were near fully developed adult god/giant. He may never get as physically strong as Kratos but he can still get stronger.

In retrospect, in GOW4, when Atreus activated his "Spartan Rage," I think he was actually about to transform into the bear or wolf, but the same system of GOW4 would have applied otherwise, the problem was that Atreus believed that he was mortal there, and couldn't connect to his transformation powers, like the story says. Another idea I had was that the Spartan Rage is basically the same bar as Atreus' transformation, and the flame/glitter effect look very similar. The devs easily could have made it a different color, but maybe it's essentially the same power, just different outcome? I think that one's less plausible because of the fox transformation, which is because of a positive emotion. Just in general, I think it's a bit sus, tho.

Honest question: In Kratos first fight with Thor, Thor says that he's not allowed to kill him. He even revives him after killing him. Now, WHAT IF YOU PURPOSELY LET THOR KILL YOU? Will he revive you again? What if you let him kill you over and over and over again, will he keep reviving you each time you die? Pls make a vid on that

Atreus is unbelievably powerful and has mad potential. He is skilled with a bow & knife, knows giant magic, can turn into a bear, a wolf (in animal form he for sure has enhanced senses), teleport, regenerate, able to learn languages even dead ones quickly, smart as a whip, and can heal, I’m sure there’s more he can do.

God of trickery essentially we now follow Loki/Atreus to Egypt or a different setting following majority of the gameplay as the past but having more trick based attak and gameplay like a assassin's Creed x god of war game

Pertaining to the prophecy of Kratos's death, it more than likely would have happened if Odin succeeded in filling Atreus's head with the idea that he is supposed to be the Champion. This in turn pushed him to seek out Odin and learn his powers through his training while posing as a better father figure. Then with the idea of peace flowing through his mind, and the thought of having to go to war in Kratos, this would create a conflict between the two.
Odin would then rally his family behind Atreus and would result in Kratos being killed by his own son, which explains the golden trail in the mural of him using his soul extracting ability, however, it all changed when Kratos started changing as well. His tendencies slowly unraveled. Instead of closing your heart to the pain, he encouraged his son to open his heart to the pain. Instead of outright killing Thor, he learned from Atreus about forgiveness even for those that spoke ill about killing his son, spared him when he discovered Atreus was friends with Thurd. The big turning point of Kratos dying would be if Atreus pieced together Kratos was planning to start war while he was gone, despite their joined effort for peace. It would be seen as hypocritical and another major secret tha Atreus is so pissed off about when it comes to his parents. However, Kratos shared that info with them while also proclaiming Heimdall's death was purely to protect his son.
It's like what the Norns said: your tendencies are predictable which inevitably leads to prophecy. Kratos is willing to go to war so long Atreus is in danger. Atreus would have killed his father in favor of Odin to maintain peace if he allowed his ego to get ahead of him into thinking he was the Champion. Odin would still be alive and used Atreus to gain the source of All Knowledge.
And Atreus would have been like Heimdall: Arrogant, selfish, cruel and devoid of compassion and curiosity. Just like Atreus took his role as Champion of the Jotnar seriously, Heimdall does this with his role as Watchman of the Aesir.

Well Atreus or Loki is still very young for a god or Giant he will develop more if the story continues in a way. Either he becomes physically stronger as he gets older because he’s still a teenager and for a god that’s like a baby and he’s also part giant and his mother was very strong too. If the story continues I hope we see him grow horns or have a helm with horns on it and he develops his own style of fighting and grow and go down his own path and then returns to see his father. This was a long thought sorry.
He is the God of mischief perhaps a more hybrid style would be better relying on strength and tactics.

i have a theory that all these prophecies in the game didn't come true because Loki didn't exist, Atreus is. The moment kratos named him atreus, all the prophecies is crumbling. Because all the prophecies is about loki not atreus.
All scenes are touching to me even on the last one when he said "stop thinking like a father & think more like a general" because he used to be like that until his wife & daughter died by his hands

Think about this. He almost killed Atreus, then he asked Kratos to act like a General. The last time Kratos was a General, he killed his daughter and wife. That "No" was pure PTSD

I love the writing in this game. We clearly know why Atreus wants to do what he's doing but we also understand why Kratos is distrustful of his son. But he didn't approach the problem correctly. Atreus randomly woke up in Ironwood and got sent to their Midgard home, then an angry Kratos demanded answers from his son that he doesn't know Atreus doesn't have. Kratos and Atreus both care for the other so greatly they wanted to hide the the prophecy that Kratos would die and Loki would serve Odin.
