I’ve been natural for 5 years now and I just did another chop. I know it’s cold but I’m backwards- let it grow doing summer and cut it off doing the cold season. Long story short I loved my curl pattern as well, only problem I wanted dye this time but so far so good. I’ve heard ppl say when u add color, u risk the curl pattern changing but mines still curly.

I had a big chop done into a pixie a few months ago, went n purchased the proper sized flat irons n have yet to use them!😃 I love my natural curls so I went n purchased all things for my curls and that's how I've been wearing it using that same technique minus the gel - lol I have yet to use!😃

Aussie Moist 4 minute Miracle in the purple container she was using is the conditioner I use also with my shirt natural Afro style. I leave it on for about 10-15 mins with a plastic bag covering my head or a plastic bonnet if I have one . I use Cantu’s shampoo and their curling cream . Every 3-4 weeks, I use protein rich deep conditioning (Cantu) to give my hair strength .. If I want my hair really soft afterward protein conditioning, the Aussie 3 min conditioner for 3-5 min always makes my hair soft again.. My hair responds to Aussie 3 min Miracle .. economical too. .. Thx to my barber !!!!💗

My 4c hair will not curl like that no matter how much ecostyler gel I put on it. I have to have my hair soak and wet, and then put on paul mitchell pomade, then gel. I can not put on anything to add moisture bcz it will not hold the curl for some reason. Very drying to not be able to put anything to add moisture.

I had locs for 11 years and chopped in April. I've been on the journey styling my natural/twa/tapered cut and im enjoying it. I LOVE washing my hair everyday bc I wasn't able to do so with my locs. I figuring out what works for me as well. I somewhat figured out what works for me...but I love experiencing with new products and how they work on my hair. Great video! Hello Lorissa, I just wanted to let you know that you are in the process of riding your scalp & body from the chemical damage that multiple years of perming your hair has caused. It's natural for your head to hurt as your scalp heals itself, for lack of better words. I am a newly transitioned "Natural Hair" person as well, of almost 2 years. My Anniversary is Dec. 31... I experienced the same thing within my first year of the "Big/Little Chop". Eventually, the pain will stop and you may begin to love being "PermFree"! Have fun Loving & Learning your "NATURAL HAIR"!

So how long do you keep your style per week. I find that I am in my hair every day sometimes 2x a day. Like you I am trying to develop a routine. You and I seem to have similar curl pattern. I certainly agree a nice cut gives a more edgy look but I am trying to grow my hair out. I am older and feel the growth process is slow. Overall thanks for the suggestions...they were more relatable

Yes I have a edge brush but it is hard and it kinda hurts but I do still use it but toothbrush do feel better 😃
