- THE CARP PROJECT // S3 // E1 // Darrell Peck - Over The Full Moon! Mainline Baits Carp Fishing TV
The Carp Project returns to the channel with Season:03 and an action packed carp fishing 2021 film, where we find top UK carp angler Darrell Peck visiting The Carp Societies Farriers Lake in the Cotwolds. A shallow weedy pit famed for holding a stock of large, dark common carp, Farriers presents Darrell with a number of challenging fishing situations, especially as he has never seen the lake before.
The result is highly immersive carp fishing film, where Darrell reveals every stage of approach, as he continually adapts and tweaks his tactics to bring all the pieces of the puzzle together, and ultimately begin to catch carp!
That's not say there isn't plenty of ups and downs along the way, as catching the Farriers carp proves to be far from straight forward. Knocked back, yet undeterred Darrell shows why he's one of the best carp anglers around, simply by applying the fundamentals of carp fishing watercraft, bait and rig tactics well to create a red-letter session full of big-carp leaving Darrell 'Over The Full Moon'!

Nice! Enjoy : )
Your doing it right
Exactly what I had when I had my 1st 40lb at 5am lol it was lovly
Your not fishing right unless you have a beer in 1 hand and a spliff in the other ✌
Wating for them carp to move was crying out for a bread flake on top
I just sat down with a cup of delicious coffee and I'm now transferred to a better world ☺️
Perfect!
Learn so much from Darrell Peck - great angler, inspiration. Passion this guy has is awesome.
Couldn't agree more!
He’s the Modern day GOAT 🐐 imo
@@joshyxz I agree! He's the best.
Always fish a rod close...everyone launches for the horizon!!!
Tight baiting...little but often...keep it trickling in 😂
Always!

Mainline I Love this series, thanks for the hard work to produce. Love seeing Pecky in action
Our pleasure!
Darrell is a top guy and a great angler. I’ve learnt so much from mainline, there baits are the best in the business and the team are great. The fish caught are absolutely beautiful and well deserved.
Couldn't agree more!
Darrell amazing as usual, always learning a lot with you guys! Been waiting for this for a while, well done and thank you! 🙌🙌🙌
Awesome! Thank you!
Great video, last fish, was absolutely beautiful.

You make it sound so easy, Darrell 😄
Lots of experience here John!
Superb technically with rigs and bait application and fantastic filming. The fish in their look gorgeous. Well done to Darrell, great watch and great catches. Mainline bait is hard to beat.
Thanks David 👍
Brilliant vlog top angling Darryl as usual some cracking fish spot on brother 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it Paul!
Good watch!! Cheers mainline
Thanks Jason - glad you enjoyed it!
Though this isn't my style of fishing, I mostly fish rivers for chub and barbel or prefer stalking carp with one rod, I really enjoyed this video. After a 10 year break I'm returning to angling this year so been watching as many CZcams videos as possible which will inspire me and get my fishing brain back into gear and this one is definitely one of the best carpy ones I've watched. Darrells cool, calm style of presentation (and also including the mistakes) is extremely watchable (a lot of carp anglers seem to irritate me lol). Also whoever did the soundtrack (sometimes another source of irritation! its either ridiculous HI NRG techno or boring ambient piano) also deserves a mention, because they did a spot on job. Cheers!
Thanks Steve - glad you enjoyed this film!
OMG , that was tru the roof ! Congrats to all team involved . Learnd sow much ! Sorry for bad english 😜👏👏👏👏👏👏🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 keep up the Carp spirit alive.
Glad you enjoyed it!

@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV yes ssss
That end common was absolutely stunning well done m8 mainline baits I've been using them for 30 years wouldn't use anything else 👌
Awesome thank you!
Darrell, I'm massively interested into how you approach a lake such as yateley car park when you mullerd it I know you used boilie to good effect but I'd love to know the thought processes behind it as these day ticket puddles ain't really it Bush?
UGLY got me 🤣🤣
A character fish for sure!
Great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

But watching this vid
Looks like dp is stressing out
Hey man just chill😊👍
GOOD ANGLING always nice when someone puts you on a spot, shame no runs were recorded by the cameraman.
What rods does he use for fishing and spodding? Thx
What's the best app for weather pressure and moon phases etc
What line are you using and what lb line thanks Rod
What rods and reels are you using
awesome stuff again from mainline, John anymore how to videos etc :)
Thanks David! Yes, more to come - Zig Rigs next I think?!
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV yes please John can you show us all the zig rig stuff and zig flavours etc.
Hopefully get to see him on monstercarp again
That'd be good!
Anybody know the rod pod/rod rest used???
Can someone please explain to me why there are still (leadcore) leader bans on certain lakes in England? As far as fish safety goes, a helicopter set-up nowadays is like 10x safer for the fish than having a standard leadclip set-up with tubing. Same goes for using braided mainline, wich combined with a fluocarbon snagleader would be much safer on the lake Darrell fishes this episode. Down here in Holland, I most certainly couldn't fish properly without these things, that's for sure.
Did Darrell eat anything during these sessions or just drink tea?🧐🤔🤣
You are watching 1 of the greatest carp anglers ...
You got that right David!
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV without a doubt 👍
Didn't enjoy this video though
How many hooks did you use on that second cast 🙈🤣
Dunnarf look like David Beckham from some angles
Great vid, great tuition but Jesus !! Put some water in that lake 😂
It certainly has some shallow areas, but lovely venue and carp!
What trakker bivvy is pecky using?
Great vid
Think it’s the 100T
Yep Tempest 100T.
This may not come across well. Fishing in spots pointed out by other anglers and using bait recommended for the lake, I would argue that isn't angling that's fishing by numbers. You may as well floater fish in a koi pond. As much as its lovely catching big carp surely there is no sense of achievement as essentially they're other anglers' fish who have put the hard work in.
Hi Dan, I think Darrell points out that you cannot ignore what other anglers are telling you but you still need to check and fish known spots your own way, and as for the Cell it dominates a lot of waters and when this is the case you better off joining the party a lot of the time.
When was this filmed? Can't be this year, weather's been shite
Last year Kris.
That's good to know, was beginning to think the cotswolds had its own microclimate 😁
Kamakura Wide Gape X Micro Barbed size 4 👌🏽
Night on the canal 🎣 glad there's something decent to watch instead of these bream spawning 🤭
Hope you enjoy!
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV awesome to watch 🎣🎣
This ones great, its different from the other styles of video. Its more like watch the expert fishing instead of watch the experts catch montage if that makes sense. This style answers different questions, its a different learning experience. How does he cast, how does he use the clip, what does he do when he makes mistakes, watching him waiting for the fish to move instead of clipping that part and showing him casting to the fish, its the stuff like that that's really important. I don't have anyone to teach me how to fish I learn from YT, info vids and pretty catch montages are great but you can go out and buy all the stuff and still get the application wrong. More on the angling, less on the fish. How does he catch them.
Absolutely! We've gone for a more immersive style so you can see ALL the little things that go into getting it right, and that this doesn't always happen first time, it often takes a few tweaks to get that bite!
Like them buzz bars what one’s are they pal like um
Look like jag 2+1's but might not be ??
Duno but sure they be about £800 😂
Jesus Christ, finally✌
Hope you enjoy!
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV I Just grabbed some snacks to enjoy it even more💪 Greetings from Germany
Any reason why you didn't opt for a floating bait option when there were so many fish on the top? Doesn't make much sense chucking out a bottom bait rig when the fish are on top. I know it was a shallow area but still....feel that potential bites were missed there.
Hi Lee, the water was so shallow in this area the fish were actually only inches off the bottom.
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV Fair enough, makes complete sense now...please don't think that I was questioning Mr Pecks angling skills as this wasn't the case at all. I just didn't quite understand why a float option wasn't used, but I now know why... Thanks Guys
@@leetully6225 No worries Lee.
Darrell just a thought ... is all that constant spodding ( landing on their heads ) not spooking them off?? As you had a blank for two days just curious .... ;)
It'll spook em off but they'll come back to the bait a few hours later
@@LiamJProduction true enough I’m always wary of spooking them maybe I shouldn’t be 👌
@@roccomoss35 if you want to spook them off best way to do it is by spodding bait out as theyll come back to feed on the bait
Why do anti tangle sleeve? Does anyone know.
Scratch that. He just explained why
Darrell Peck versus Christophe Demoulins
30 min he's casting and spotting and bombing, 1 st fish walks in the water like MOZES but some nice fish on the banks ps what are you applying on the hook?
The fish were comfortable in that area, Darrell just couldn't get a pick up until finding the right spot and then unfortunately the fish was weeded so off he went! He's putting Korda's Kama Kote on the hooks after sharpening them - its an anti-corrosion compound to ensure the hooks stay super sharp.
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV Okay yes that weed was massive the second session was a little better but still fishing those condition and landing carp not many will do it
What is the bivy he is using
Hi Peter, this is a Trakker Tempest 100T (made a little higher for more headroom and taller anglers)
great production but empty car park and not another angler in sight surprise surprise
Hey Jason, there are four car parks at the the lake, it certainly wasn't empty we can assure you.
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV yeah yeah ive been on lakes both here and in france where the whole lake or part of it has been closed off because high profile anglers were due to arrive and start filming and it happens all the time here in the uk and in france it seems a bit funny that pecky was the only person who was on that amount of fish in that area.
@@jasoncooke5572 as we said we can assure you that we did not have any swims booked off or anything similar - Darrell chose swims and fished according to what was available.
Name reels?
unfortunately i don't understand the video. It is obvious that he can walk through the entire lake. So you could well create a spot. Marking and spodding also makes no sense cause he could bring the food to the spot. He could place his rods by feet as well. :D
The rules on wading are strict at Farriers and also bailiffed very well - you can only wade to land weeded fish. Darrell had a to check with the bailiff he was okay to stand in margin (6 inches of water) by his rods to cast. So all baiting rig casting etc. must be done from the bank.
Shame that 22lb isn’t seen as a big fish. Makes new anglers not appreciate all size fish. Love to catch a carp like that, size is irrelevant should be about the fun of fishing and the look of the fish
Don't get me wrong I love these vids the pro guys do and the knowledge they give is awesome but I do often wonder with these professional vids it always looks like u guys have the whole lake to yourself for 2/3 days of filming. Also do u guys have spotters patrolling the lake with multiple rods set up all over the lake chucking kilo after kilo of bait in?. I don't know about anyone else but the lakes I fish once you've set up in a particular swim u are not allowed to move. So if you do see fish on the other side of the lake its tough luck. Honestly I'm not slatting anyone but sometimes these pro guys and vids do seem to have it far to easy u can't help think its all a bit of a set up?.
Hi, this was filmed with one camera man and Darrell only, who turned up on both sessions the same as any of the other anglers there to take his chances and exactly how you see him apply his watercraft skills to put himself in with the best chance of catching - no spotters?! booking off swims or anything similar. On Darrell second session the swim to his left was occupied, the swim to his right had two anglers doubled up, two anglers were at the top of the bay to his left and one in the bay behind him, the swim he fished in the first session (5) was already occupied as was swim 4 to the left of that. Farriers is a syndicate water so the only privilege we had was permission to fish/film these two sessions.
The rig talk after it had been picked up and moved the night before (nothing to see here 🤦♀️)
This fish at 1:02:00 is matching the catcher appearance wise. No offence mate! :) :) :)
Who won the bait give away and i was first
We posted the winner on our Community tab.
Thought it was a barbless rule?
Darrell used Barbless Daniel as he points out with the weeded fish.
What was the footage at 56.15 all about then?
And again at 56:30?
I only carry barbed hooks - so when fishing a barbless venue I just crush the barb flat with my crimping pliers 👍
Cud one of the mainline or korda lads get intutch with me as I've got a unknown lake with fish to the regent of 70lbs plus I've had them to 46 empty after the funny business and seen fish much bigger get intutch with me please
You can email the address in our about tab.

Darrell, great work as always and the fish looked awesome. Just one thing, all the money Korda and mainline pay you, cant you afford a new kettle instead of that rusty old thing you got?
I bailiffed him when he was on the first session and I was filming my own blog 👍👍
I bailiffed him lmao what a stupid thing to come out with
Would love to actually see the hook hold on theses fish. ...another cracking vid btw...
Thanks 👍
