- It wasn’t the outburst offensively we’ve been looking for, but the Atlanta Braves did enough to win 4-2 on Monday night over the Boston Red Sox.
Reynaldo López had to work out of a lot of jams but put together another nice outing with Aaron Bummer helping him escape trouble in the sixth.

We won the game, which is great but still didn't look great at the plate imo. Only had 7 hits, and 2 of those were singles in the 8th. We only struck out 7 times, which is a good sign that were seeing the ball better. Hopefully, it continues tonight
I thought they were better at-bats based on what we've seen lately. But yea, still not to where we expect.

I'm a every day listener and a Braves fan since I was 6 years old in 1995. My question is do you think if Jarred Kelenic keeps playing solid offensively and stellar defensively in left field Snit might give him a shot to be the every day left fielder or will they continue to platoon with Duval?
I think you have to eventually. But for now I think they'll still give Duvall opportunities.
What's up Jake? With the Blue Jays continuing to underperform what do think about the possibility of the Braves bringing Gausman back? He has 2 more years and his contract is relatively affordable @ 5 for $ 110M.. just a thought would love to hear yours

I wouldn't even say pulling Jared for Adam had that much of a positive that you wouldn't have had with Jared. He makes the same catch and probably easier. It's no knock on Adam but Jared is that much of a better glove. I'm with you, I'm kind of tired of this platoon nonsense and I think it did nothing but stunt the momentum for Eddie and Kevin last year and it's probably going to do the same for at least Jared this year. He is supposed to be the guy you want to make your left fielder of the future. Give him the reps.
I won't downplay the Phillies and certainly beating your opponents regardless of how good they are is impressive at the level they are doing it. But when you play that many subpar teams who are specifically subpar offensively, your pitching numbers are going to be absurdly inflated. I learned that with our team during some streaks over the years. Always be concerned about the Phillies as they are the prime rival in the division. But I'm screenshotting all their euphoria right now for when they actually play a team with a pulse and get a reality check.
They've played six total games against teams with a 500 or a better record in baseball. We've played 19. No other team has played less than 12. I actually hope they let this get to their head and then do the typical Philly thing. Their best hitter on the year is a guy who won't be their best hitter all year and is currently nursing an injury. Castellanos can't hit the broadside of a barn. Schwarber is still your one home run followed by 10 strikeouts guy. Harper seems to be heating up. Turner is out and weirdly their defense has gotten better.
I'm all for just giving Kelenic everyday playing time for a while and see what happens.

I was about ready to blow it up. Trade acuna and just release Olson, he sucks no one would trade for him, that’s the only way to improve this team. But I guess those guys can stay since we got a win finally. lol jk. Seriously though did Olson break all of the mirrors in Georgia? Dude has awful luck, he smokes baseballs and they just die at the warning track or go right to someone.
He does. Gotta turn around at some point. Maybe he used it all up last year.

Marcell Ozuna is mashing. It’s wild how good he has been for so long carrying it over from season to season after being the worst player in MLB for multiple seasons. I love baseball.
Kelenic is going to win a gold glove if he stays healthy. I love Duvall and he is a great defender but it makes me nervous every time we take out Jared at the end of games.
Bullpen depth is paying dividends already. This anthopolis guy might know a thing or two.
