- Royal Commentator Josh Rom has told Sky News Australia why Kensington Palace is now under “extra pressure” to show the public “everything is ok”.
The first photograph of Princess of Wales since her abdominal surgery has been recalled by global news agencies amid allegations it was digitally manipulated.
Mr Rom said the photograph has done “nothing to quell” concerns around Princess Catherine’s wellbeing. Kensington Palace is yet to respond to concerns that the photograph may have been altered.
Josh Rom said it was “not a good look” for the Palace, at time there is a stripped back monarchy. The Princess of Wales is not expected to resume public duties until after Easter.

The Army had to remove Kate’s name from attending the trooping the colour….some sergeant in the army tried to dispel rumors about her health and defend her by saying she’s on the mend and he’s looking forward to her attending the parade in June. The palace quickly released a statement saying that she wouldn’t be attending as planned! wtf is going on.

This photograph brings to light how terrible it must be to live in the limelight. To have everything you do in public (or private) to the put under a microscope to be dissected, pulled apart and for us all to give our tuppence worth. The family can't do right for doing wrong. When KP released the photo to news agencies, they violated rules by not disclosing it wasn’t an original; and the distributors (AP, Reuters, Getty and others) have a right to issue a recall to insulate their own organizations from claims of misinformation or any other liability.

As an American I feel unless Catherine was filmed being cut open, then filmed being brought home in her PJ"s hooked up to IV's, nobody would have been satisfied. The photo was taken on a phone by a husband/ father who isn't a professional photographer.

After several abdominal surgeries, my experience is a 2-3 month recovery would be normal. Let her recover in peace.

This is not a story about Catherine, and for those who are saying leave the Princess alone are missing the point completely: Its about Kensington Palace. For these major news agencies to pull the photo is a very big deal in the PR world. Any PR professional would have never submitted this photo for distribution. Clearly KP needs to correct course and Princess Catherine deserves so much better than this. I hope our Princess can rest for as long as she needs. KP on the other hand needs to address this so it never happens again.

I think she had some sort of female problem surgery, taking a long time to recover from.
Not all abdominal surgeries are the same. This I know since I’ve had several each of which have taken different lengths of recovery.

(1) Yes, of course the photo has been majorly manipulated (Vogue Magazine cover face cut/paste?), and in an amateurish way. But given her remarkable absence from the public eye, it suggests:

When the Palace announced that Catherine Princess of Wales was having scheduled abdominal surgery they said she wouldn't be taking on any duties until at least after Easter...Have I slept in because I'm pretty sure Easter is a few weeks away? Do they want her to make a balcony appearance or go out and let the paps know she's going to be at a certain place at a certain time? Or do they want an interview on a news outlet to be televised to the nation? For goodness sake, let her alone, we'll see her when she's ready.

We photoshop many of our photos because I don’t like looking fat and ugly. Every photo of celebrities is “manipulated” beyond all recognition including the duplicitous duo.
I must be dim but I can't figure out what the big deal is. IMO the photo was chosen long before Catherine's surgery from a previous collection to be revealed on Mothers' Day. Poorly done photoshop adjustments is only proof that someone needs more lessons in photo editing. It's a none-issue that the media is exploiting.

Fake or not, that is not the photograph of a woman who is too ill to sit down and record a 20 second video to thank the public for their support and good wishes. Also, if this is a genuine photo which she badly doctored, just publish the original un-photoshopped picture.
The mistakes in that image are NOT an edit. Those misalignments are evidence of NOT editing to correct it. If she wanted it perfect, why leave errors. A "pic-stitch" feature is on most phones which combines the best of multiple images into one photo. This is ridiculous.
