  • In this video I do an overnight camping trip in my Tinny. I catch Bonito, Mackerel and a Hammerhead Shark. I cook up the Bonito and have a Bonito Burger on the beach. Every man and his dog was on the water as it was the end of lock down and the return of boating in Queensland. I camp at Peel Island in Moreton Bay and have a cracking time.
    Hope you enjoy the video.

      KwakaZX10R you've just painted a perfect picture for living the dream. I've had 2 tinnies, 1 4.35 plate alloy with a 40 horse Johno and the second was a 455 stacer with another 40hp but this time with electric tilt and trim. A must in my opinion, I covered some serious miles in those 2 smallish boats but had an absolute blast. Being on the water is so damb relaxing. Now I'm looking for number 3. I still like a 455 with a 40 to 50 horse, such versatile little boats an easy to handle at the ramp when solo and the wind picks up.

    Hey mate, nice vid. I was out on the water the same weekend out the front of Moreton hitting the FADs, hit bag limit on the dollies but current was hectic for bottom bashing. I have been out nearly every weekend last couple of months haha. With regard to filleting fish please check the department of fisheries regulations and get familiarised with them as you do not want to get caught out (filleting the mack may have landed you in hot water, it is a grey area open for interpretation, its better not to leave the door open IMO). You will get a lot more meat if you ditch the flat filleting technique, prob lost 1cm fillet thickness each side doing it the way you did, made me cringe thinking about all that awesome sashimi going into the drink haha.

    • @AusAdventure
      @AusAdventure  Před 4 lety

      Yeah I’m no chef when it comes to filleting. I left the skin on the Mac and the fillets were over 40cm so that should have been fine if I was checked I think. The Bonito I’m not so sure about as my original plan was to cook it up straight away but the plan changed. I might check with Fisheries for next time. Thanks for the advice.

    • @rp3874
      @rp3874 Před 4 lety +1

      @@AusAdventure yeah it is a bit too grey for me as there is no defined size of fillet. I have encountered good and bad fisheries on the water. I have had arguments with them in the past, one which was resolved in my favour at a higher level. Some are just deadshits barely able to read let alone enforce the rules, which I duly pointed out to that individual

      @AusAdventure  Před 4 lety

      Cheers mate. I would recommend testing the swag set up before you go. Just so you know it will work before you get out there. Also plan where your going to anchor. I always sleep better knowing I’m in a calm protected anchorage. Ensuring your anchor light is working properly is always a good idea too so other boats can see you. Otherwise mate enjoy it.
