    In fortnite mine on perfance mode with meshes on high, can get up to 200 FPS and it has only about 30Ping. Thought warning! Watch those tempatures! Plus, keep the fan on high when gaming. at top left of keyboard there is a key with their logo. There you can see the temps and change the fan speed in bottom right. Good Luck.

    I have had this laptop for about a month now. It is good and for the money it's worth it. The o my issue I have is that the HDMI port seems to be "connected" to the CPU GPU and when I output to a monitor it does not appear to allow use of the 1050ti.

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  Před 6 lety +2

      Oh that's interesting, I didn't have any HDMI connectors so didn't do any testing of the port myself.

    • @dysolve6181
      @dysolve6181 Před 6 lety

      I tried to connect it to a vive and a HDMI screen and in both cases it said it was using Intel graphics. Before any one tells me it will not work with a vive because of the 1050ti, I have tested on a PC with a 1050ti and it works fine for most games

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  Před 6 lety +1

    Hello, nice review. Just a quick question, does backlight bleeds entitled you for a RMA? Thanks..

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  Před 6 lety

      Thanks! I think it depends on the company, I have heard that in some cases really bad bleed can be replaced, so I think it also depends on how bad it is. I've talked to at least one company and asked what their policy is, they said to contact them and they'll see if they can help out and likely replace it if it came to it, that wasn't ASUS though so not sure how they handle it.

    Hey I had been having this laptop for almost like 4 months and am coming across extreme thermal throttling while I game at Max Fan speed. it reaches CPU - 85°C-87°C and GPU - 80°-83°
    Am afraid this will affect the life of my laptop will it ? should I send it for R&D ?

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  Před 6 lety +1

      What is the temperature of the room you're using the laptop in? The temps of the laptop will greatly depend on this factor. Those temperatures aren't really too high that I'd worry about them, you could try repasting the CPU/GPU, others in the comments of my video have said they have dropped up to 20c doing that, or attempt to undervolt.

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  Před 5 lety +1

      Thanks! Hard to remember here as this is one of my older reviews now, I think it did though, most ASUS laptops have some degree of control and the gaming ones usually have the rog gaming centre. You could probably confirm by looking at the support page for the model and seeing the software downloads available for it

    Is there any huge difference in the performance between this and MSI GL62M 7REX? Both uses 1050ti and i7 config but i am torn between those two since this one came preinstalled with windows but the MSI one has better cooling system.

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  Před 6 lety

      I haven't tested that laptop myself, but assuming there are no overheating and throttling issues it probably performs fairly similarly as the specs are close, I looked it up and it just says up to i7, if it's the 7700HQ then yeah same CPU. If you know one has better cooling over the other and they are otherwise fairly similarly in terms of specs, price and anything else that is important to you then go for that one :)

    • @nekovanguard9553
      @nekovanguard9553 Před 6 lety

      Looking at the benchmark the MSI one performs slightly better at 3-6 more fps and sometimes could be more dependin on the game. Really i'm torn between this two since MSI one offers better performance but still uses TN and no OS meanwhile GL553VE has better IPS screen and HDD and also came preinstalled with windows. Anyway thanks alot pal for replying, it helps me alot :D

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  Před 6 lety

      3-6 FPS is really margin of error territory, I wouldn't purely base the decision on that. In terms of quality in my own experience I've found MSI / ASUS laptops to be of similar quality levels, so it's hard to really pick one over the other assuming specs are mostly the same. Hope what ever you pick is good!

      Thanks! The 7700HQ CPU is pretty decent, and the 1050Ti graphics are still pretty good in games too and plenty for accelerating various applications that can make use of it, so in terms of specs I thought it should be up to what you're doing, you could search for most specific benchmarks in the applications you plan on using on the 7700HQ / 1050Ti combination to get an idea of what to expect.

      Hi Jarrod, thanks for answering promptly. So from what i am understanding regarding SSD, we have 2 kinds depending on the slots, PCIe slot and SATA3 slot and in PCIe slot you can put 2 different kinds of SSD(nVme & m.2).
      So in my laptop in the sata slot i have 1tb HDD, so that leaves me with option to put m.2 or nvme ssd into the PCIe slot?

      Cheers! Sorry for the delay, CZcams is bad at notifications and I have to manually scroll back through all the comments to find unanswered ones 😭 the M.2 slot can be used for both SATA speeds or NVMe speeds. Yes sounds like you are using the 2.5" drive bay with the HDD and have a M.2 slot free (you can open the laptop up and confirm this), if so you can put an M.2 drive in there (whether that be SATA or NVMe speed).

      As you hopefully know, it is not possible to simply get an average frame rate for the entire game, it will greatly change depending on where you are and what's going on. My test does no represent the standard that you will get everywhere in the game, some places will be better and some worse. Additionally, this video is 6 months old now and if there have not been game improvements and/or Nvidia driver update improvements in that time then I will be shocked. I run my tests 3 times and take the averages at each setting level, so the results were as accurate as I could get, but glad to hear that my hours of testing is a joke.
