do you need to slightly release the accelerating pedal for auto rpm reduction/adjustment? Presently my car requires releasing of accelerating pedal( at least slightly) to start kickdown. But It was not required when I bought this initialy.

Nop, it does not, you need to adjust the bowden cable

    104 or 110 engine?

I owned a '85 M110 W123 280E (with just over 100k km), I found the motor a huge disappointment. The 230E is more than adequate.

why did you find it like that? I am just about to go for w126 280SE 185PS therefore your advice would be very interesting to me. let me know.

@@grzes124124 the gearing on the W126 280SE may be dfferent, but the performance on the W123 280E was disappointing. Fuel consumption at around 15l/100km wasn't good either. If you can, get a W126 300E, that's a far better motor.

@@Visionery1 I hear what you're saying, your W123 was it carburator fueled? my intention is to change k-jet into EFI, we have a garage called k-jet killers - these guys came up with and designed all the gear needed for EFI conversion and then on top of that I would put LPG system in there which reuduces fuel cast by 50% +/-...
all in all is it a good idea? I don't know, whether it is a wise thing to go for such an old car, it sat for 9years, engine apparently works, I got the video from the seller, rear wheel arches well rusty, requires a bit of body and pain work, k-jet probably on its way out...but well equipped aircon, sunroof, automatic, cruise control, orthopedic seat and ca 150.000km milage and its look :)

@@grzes124124 my W123 280E was a K-Jetronic system. They're actually very simple and reliable. My W124 230E (KE-Jetronic) had a cold starting issue (battled to start/choking off) and a misfire when starting from hot after standing for 20-30 minutes. I removed and checked the injectors, noticed one was leaking, replaced them all with new units (very cheap compared to modern EFI parts) and now the engine barely turns over before it starts. The W124/126 cars, and those preceding them, were very well engineered. I sold my 2003 Audi A6 2.4 Multitronic and bought a 1992 W124 230E A/T with 200k kms, at 165k kms the Audi was becoming a money pit.
