I bought a slightly used one on Kijiji. I’ve played with it on indoor courts only and I’ve found it the be a very comfortable ball to play with. The bounce is no different than with my other top end balls. The ball itself has a nice grip and is easy to handle.
My dad was the National sales manager for Spalding through the 2000’s, and I got to keep one of these balls. Played with it an entire summer and I had CONSTANT cuts on my middle and pointer fingers. This ball is total ass but a good collector piece
Once they were broken in they felt ok, but they were a lot more rough, almost a rubbery feel that didn’t smoothly slide through your fingers like a nice leather ball does when it’s broken in.
I was at a camp a few months ago and they had us use a ball like this one day and it felt like it was cutting my hands up every time I dribbled, shot, and passed.

If it was so bad that your hands need shaking off after 2 dribbles then it wouldn’t have been made for the NBA. The difference is at the NBA level players play at the top level and play with the ball vigorously which is which their hands developed cuts overtime from it , a factor that was ignored in its production- the professional use of it
