Proto Mundi is Antoine’s album project released in October, 2017. It is a concept album which includes three extended tracks, a 32-page booklet with a shot story plus a full bonus album. This 7 minutes video is just a fragment of the full clip, which includes more than 50 minutes full lenght of Simon Phillips recording the drums for Proto Mundi album.

Simon has been my favorite drummer since 1984. His resume since then, is absolutely astounding!!! Whatever style music he plays, it's always with perfection in timing, creativity and improvisation. Truly is a master musician at work....in the studio and live. 🥁

Simon Phillips at his best! Never heard him playing so sophisticated. Although the tracks are very long, they are not boring. What a great CD. Also the bonus album "Doomsday vault" is worth listing, cause you get an overview about Antoine's work during the last years. Enjoy it!

Mr.Phillips, she has been playing for many years, and musically since i met her to today she has done nothing but improve her style, it is a pleasure to hear her play then she alway has well supplied drums of cymbals and drums, which are spectacular. Yep! That's Jerry Goodman from Mahavishnu Orchestra on violin! It seems he's played on a lot of Antoine Fafard's records. He's on his entire latest one with Gavin Harrison on drums.

Gary Husband is also an amazing drummer. But Simon is the best there is.
At first I was a little disappointed with what Simon was playing, but then I realised what he was doing - playing exactly what the music needed. Leaving it room to breathe. That's a sign of class and an impressive lack of ego.
When a musician (especially a drummer) feels that he has to show off his sh*t in every single bar and play one long solo in every song, well, that's when his phone stops ringing and he gets to spend a lot more time at home.
It's ironic that overplaying is what eventually leads to you playing nothing at all. 😁
Simon's a terrific musician as well as a marvellous drummer.

@@thesimonphillipsarchive1957 Simon Philips is one the best drummer in the world. To be a great drummer doesn’t mean that all your tune are good. I never said that the channel is boring. In fact, i was enjoying the drum part, so tight, but feeling bored by some keyboard self-indulgent impro…I think that you can deal with negative comment without overreacting.
@@S-dr7jx Didn’t found negative your comment, there’s a lot of kind of Music for each group of people, I think you need to be more clear when you say “bored”.
