More than any other Christian religion, Catholicism takes Scripture seriously. Can a person really desire heaven? Is it possible? If a person sincerely desires heaven, that means he is at the zenith of luxury, he has everything in abundance, he has virtually conquered the whole world. Human nature is that until and unless the lower desires are fulfilled, a person cannot aim at higher desires. Heaven is the ultimate desire and to try for it, he has to, first of all, get his lower desires fulfilled.
