Warz (voiced by Simu Liu), is a central figure in the Stormgate storyline and leads the Infernal invasion of Earth. He was revealed in playable form exclusively at gamescom latam during the opening countdown.
Play as Warz for free up to level 5 in the 3P co-op mode when the game launches to Steam Early Access on August 13. In the future, Warz will be playable in the upcoming 3v3 mode (currently in development and set to debut during Early Access).

I had the same thoughts.
I hope they pull a Sonic movie with their opening cinematic and redo Warz face closer to his model. It'd look so much cooler and intimidating compared to that shiny human baby face.
@@DeltaLeader309 I'm pretty sure they will do that, cause the cutscene hadn't been updated with the new design by the time it was showcased.
As a former HotS player I like seeing the Xul scythe mechanic on this guy. Looks fun! :D

@@Frozen_Death_Knight Yeah, the name "Heroes of the Nexus" would be confusing given the fact that there is the similarly named "Heroes of Newerth" with a similar abbreviation.
Come back to HoTS. I play almost every day. Still very fun. The game is getting patch updates regularly again and many are wondering if development will resume! Getting more players would help! You're recruited lol

Yeah... that's the first thing that got my attention, having to skip up to 5 video frames before the next render. Sure it's still playable, in development, etc. But it's still far from thousands of units on a map. And the second is the "mobile game" feel this gives. It's fine, but not my cup of tea. The game still needs alot of optimization.
@ScBroodSc2 I one billion percent agree it feels like a mobile game. It's the art style and ui. I really wished but it's too late to have a zerg look like factions. The zerg here look cartoony and somewhat more lively than the dark gritty nature behemoth zerg in sc2

They are. There was a video of it 3 months ago and it’s in active development. They’re also planning for better tilesets and some are under development right now. But yea, triggers, custom games, etc.
Everyone saying the art needs to be redone should take a look at this. So much being redone even since frigate. The new Exo is freaking cool. Warz looks different since his reveal too!
new exo is fire now they just need a dope .50 cal like sound instead of their peashooter lol

It's the terrains that need improving ...the units okay ,but terrain wise it somewhat falls flat ... That might be the aim though for readability, but a by product of that is a bland none impressive terrain

It's literally not though, Maloc's tornado flies around unpredictably shortly after you fire it. This stays fixed in place and hits much wider.
Might as well say it's the same thing as an Atlas shot because it's a lingering AoE attack.
It looks more similar to buzz saw from timbersaw in dota . The controllable saw that can go out and back at will

More Alarak I say between the two this betrayal seems more evil and Zeratul wasn’t evil at all really. He didn’t really betray anyone either like this celestial
Neither? Both of those characters are still Protoss, aligned with Protoss, and play as Protoss. Warz clearly is an Infernal hero, even if he himself is a (former) Celestial.

Warz is pretty much SG's version of Archimonde from WCIII (fallen titan who founded the burning legion to undermine his Titan god like race)

@bonehelm There are heroes in 3v3 as well. Which is a supported game mode with leaderboards, just like 1v1.

Heroes will be a part of the campaign, Co Op mode (like SC2's Co Op mode), and 3v3.
Heroes will not be available to use in 1v1 maps.

Apparently in a BTS video made by Frostgiant, Simu Liu shared gtowing up as a huge Stracraft 1-2 fan boy. so this was both a passion project for both him & Frost Giant

It relies heavily on particle effects to cover all the shortcomings of the character modeling. It's Frozen Throne/Reign of Chaos era character design.
The game is not ready. There's no footage of Starcraft 2 when it was in the same stage of development of Stormgate, and if you see alpha footage of Starcraft 2 you will notice how the graphics evolved through the time.

Your art direction is questionable if i am being nice, nothing wrong with this cartoonish style but personally i am so overexposed to these kind of graphic since LoL/overwatch genre that whenever i look at this i am just not interested no matter how you try to hype it up.

@@tanaflameheart8883 whatever floats your boat, and hey if they succeed, i wish them well and good for them but i will not be in this cartoonish rts genre anymore due to overexposure and until that changes, i will just go for space marine2,hd2, and other realistic gritty stuff. This overwatch-esque style just felt outdated, and tbh unfitting to the universe they are trying to portray with that metallic melting pot looking units that are just, ugh.
