- Part 2 of introducing and training our 6 month old border collie around our farm cat Luna. Part one was rather intense with queen Luna me high drive June in a test of will. I’m two weeks things have calmed down and we work every day to get these two on good terms. We use lots of tools in our training and getting June used to us, the other livestock guardian dogs and Luna is priority number one. She is settling in great!

That cat is very patient. My cat trained the whole neighborhood dogs within a year to leave him alone
June is showing amazing progress for a dog with such an intense herding drive. Luna, typical of royalty, expects to be adored and feels no need to make it easy on her subjects! Such a grand queen you were granted as your ranch manager. A perfect leader for the pack. June will be such a great addition once she figures this important piece out!

Yep lol! My 24yr old grandson had to move to another state with his girlfriend to disattach from "his" blankie. He ended up stealing his little bros first tho. They were gifts from my work friends to my daughter. She still has one that was given to me at the baby shower my high school friends gave me. She stole that about 40yrs ago lol. Gramma used to be the main laundry person for the kids. I live in the basement by the machines so that was cool. I loved making sure they always had clean stuff. Except when they came down at 1am upset because they forgot to get something washed lol! Our late sweet pibble let "his" kitten steal his spot in the pitties kennel...which means HIS blankie and cushions too. Sadly lost him at 12 last year but his grumpy little "panther" is still here. He spoiled that little🐈⬛ you know what so much! HES meaner than a junkyard dog haha. Want a sign that says nevermind the big dog. Watch out for the shady cat!🤣🐾🦮

My dog has a dog friend that is madly in love with my cat. My cat has taught him that he can look from a distance, but up close and personal is not allowed.
We just had to put down our beloved border collie because of an incurable cancer. He had a wonderful life and I think he’s the best dog that I’ve ever met. I’m sure you would love your border collie just as much.

i've a bum knee that may need surgery so i can't start looking at shelters for another yet

The other dogs have learned that she is a vital part of the team. They have worked with her. There's mutual trust and respect. June isn't there yet. It just takes some time.

I love judge so much!!! What good teacher's helpers judge and Luna are! Animals learn best from each other. My cat's do things strictly because it's a learned behavior from the dog's 😆 she thinks she's a big dog. Your Animals are awesome. You guy's obviously know what you're doing, and I think your training method ( from what I see) is fantastic. You can see the trust, and relaxation ❤❤❤ Bravo to you!!! I love your content.

I recommend a training collar for June. You don't have to shock them, just put it on vibrate and it will get her attention.

My cats are nasty with their beds too😭 the oldest was soo mad that i washed his pillow and wouldn't use it until his brother's used it first
What would happen if you let June go when Luna was outside? Are you worried she would “work” the cat? Luna would just run to a safe spot out of reach. I guess I’m confused why they can’t work it out on their own. If June was a Heeler I’d get the worry since they might kill a cat.
They have been off leash and June just does this basically. I don’t worry about her injuring Luna. And she calls off. I had her on leash because we were in and area w chickens and goats where I keep June on leash until she is chicken trained.

Lol,i hear that!! When you said you can't wash the blanket,bc Luna won't sleep on it. I got my cat a noce new bed. She wouldn't go near it. 🙄 So,i moticed she'd love to lay in our clothes when get them ready to wash. So,i got an idea. I put her bed on my bed and would lay while reading,. 😅 Got my sent on it and it and worked like a charm. She loves her bed now.

U probably could wash the blanket. Don’t use any chemicals when u put it in the Washer. I bet it’s the smell she doesn’t like that’s how my cats r. If I wash anything with tide and some downy they will not lay on it. But if I just throw it in without that stuff they dont tell a difference
I assume it’s a high prey drive problem with June? Or does she want to herd Luna?
I believe she said on IG that June wants to herd Luna. I love following the account.
It’s herding and some drive also just some fear in not dealing w a strong cat like this. You can tell that because June is only 6 months and her tail is tucked when around Luna even if she looks alert and in command. When she is practicing herding her tail is relaxed meaning she is thinking about what she is doing. When she is playing with the dogs her tail is high.
That's a great assessment of behavior to watch for in these videos. June has every right to be fearful. Judge has probably already warned her about those murder mittens Luna has!!

Im learning so much about cattle dogs, dogs used to protect ranch, etc. They are gorgeous dogs, smart and in tune with yall and the animals. I was wondering why is Judge thinner than other dogs, is his health ok? I Know yall Not starving him lol. Just curious if yall noticed too?

Judge weighed 200lb , not skinny.
Don’t be fooled by his size, even though Judge is a big boy, he’s still very young! His lankiness is pretty typical; most dogs don’t completely fill out until they are about 2 years old.

I have a 11 wk old cane corso and 4 yr old yorkie both females. Trying to get my puppy to leave the yorkie alone. She don’t understand y she don’t wanna play with her n get over excited when my yorkie growl. I did you do it?
You better watch out for Luna at night...or King Coyote will put an end to her reign right quick. And you might try fregrance free detergent for Luna's bed.

Its so frustrating seeing you not correct that pup at the right time.
Each time he looks at the cat with too much intensity, you should flick the leash an say no.
It shouldnt be the cats job to teach him, she could het hurt.
