sometimes history like this is more interesting
it's very easy to get scared off from ITG modcharts since it's usually the more flashy "unreadable" files that get the most attention...
however, working your way through the easier files to pick up and master skills that are used in harder files and conquering what was once "unreadable" is incredibly satisfying!
so these are possible to read as long as one practice, like some SVs

I literally found oITG/nITG in an Undertale mod chart. That's how I got into this community.
Of course it's overshadowed. Given by the fact that the difficulty is off the charts, people wouldn't want to ruin their vision because of some rhythm game.

I lived for mods when I played DDR. I never really got into ITG but loved watching people play anything on options. This is awesome.

Windeu hates you is my all time favorite set of modcharts. It's incredible how well they hold up even now. That said, I have zero desire to torture myself trying to play modcharts. I'll leave that up to someone else.

alot of the people in chat, including me, come from the mod file community. Testify has a pretty big reputation for utterly DEMOLISHING bitrates just because of what the shaders do and how much visual noise it makes

Not related to this video but will you ever be doing a Rhythm Game Anomalies video on Merami/aetrna or Cookiezi? Seeing the series I expected to see those players show up (with Cookiezi being many years ahead of his time and aetrna being the fastest player to ever touch the game, being able to stream 330bpm accurately and deathstream 300bpm), but sadly didn't see them.

I did not know people actually played this stuff, seemed like gimmicky memorisation stuff like SVs back when i first saw it. Looks like a lot of fun and refreshing from the usual stuff tho, i gotta try it
@Finn to beat the harder charts, some memorization is indeed involved, but thats the same with that really hard chart that you keep failing at but really want to pass
theres a lot more emphasis on looking at the color of the arrows, getting used to the positions, remembering the entire screen of arrows as much as possible before it goes away,
and also getting used to them swapping places with eachother
once you actually get the hang of pressing arrows without caring how theyre positioned, you pretty much can get a decent to good hold of the game
I player notitg on keyboard but I hate when there are colomn swaps since I read with the column positions

because you hit a button in rhythm to a song as objects come to a certain point on a screen, just like every other rhythm game.
