      no, that comment is just dumb. any kind of people also can over push themselves like workaholics and you have to constantly restrain them also , that doesn't mean they are champions of anything except of being excessive. So no, that's not a good way to know you have a champion just a passionate excessive person. The difference here, is that this person happens to have some talent. I had in my class persons that did average work, and had excellent results, and persons that overworked because they had more difficulties.

      I suppose it's partly because your body is still getting used to exercise. It's bound to improve, especially if you pace yourself. If you're new to jogging, then just jog at whatever pace allows you to avoid dying, no matter how slow.
      Now this piece of advice might utterly confound you: breathe through your nose, even during exercise. It's also better for you than mouth-breathing while at rest and during sleep. All of this, too, however, will take some getting used to as your nasal passages widens to adapt to the change. There's a book out there call 'The Oxygen Advantage' by Simon McKeown. I admit I haven't read it, but I'm sure it's fascinating because I've seen videos of his on CZcams and I've learned a lot from them. czcams.com/video/0gtlAAQzENw/video.html

    Here are some cross country tips:
    1: Run Conservatively, meaning like, don't EVER be one of those people who SPRINT in the beginning, there Lactate will build up quickly, (Lactate is pain), kinda jog but a little faster in the beginning, so you can wipe out the people who sprinted in the beginning by the end.
    2: Week prior to your race, eat fruits, vegetables, Chicken, Almonds, Lot's of Healthy choices, I also recommend water and Gatorade for electrolytes. (Gatorade is a good liquid to consume on the way to the meet, lets say on the way there)
    3: Stick to the same meals the day before your race, since your body is use to the foods and liquids your consuming, your body knows how to conserve the energy.
    4: Do muscle building workouts, muscle will help you get faster, though there could be cons to building muscle, but this is optional.
    5: Have fun! Don't tell yourself you can't do it, because you can, you need to train your mind to tell you that you CAN do it! Your body is more than capable to do it, your mind is whats not capable, so tell yourself you can do ANYTHING, cause you can!

    I was running in the Denver Cherry Creek Sneak back in about 1989 and I kept trying to keep pace with a young blonde haired female -- she was kicking my butt. It was killing me trying to get ahead and stay ahead of her. Finally, I realized it was Melody Fairchild the State Girl's High School Cross Country Champion -- then it was OK. I ended up with my best time ever trying to keep up with her.

      Aurora no. And I’ve looked it up. Her mile PR is 4:33. That doesn’t even put her in the top 50 for women. And her 5000m time did get her third in the world... but only in the U18 category. Her times are amazing for sure but she is far from being world class. Which btw isn’t saying much considering how you can count on one hand how many athletes were world class at 16

    • @somerandomperson8135
      @somerandomperson8135 Před 4 lety

      Correction: she was 6th in the world for any age at least for indoor in the 5000m. That doesn’t change the fact that she isn’t world class yet. Especially since she hasn’t topped her times since her sophomore year, arguably one of the greatest sophomore years for any athlete male or female
