I must have played Tiny Toon Adventures hundreds of times as a kid. Man, that game. And this list got real from 19th onwards. All those polished games. Gameboy was THE handheld.

Good list! The Game Boy library was so diverse and full of interesting titles. Personally I would put Ninja Gaiden Shadow (Shadow Warriors/Ninja Ryukenden) a lot higher than 49. The graphics, music and boss fights are some of the best on the system and it's great fun! I would also include Picross 2 high in the list.
I've played some of those and still have them for my Classic Game boy and Game boy Advance. Brings back childhood memories.
Soooo many games I never had or played in the Gameboy. The few they listed that I had, pure nostalgia!!!
This is beside the point, but I love that I'm not the only one who uses an Autumn color pallet with Gameboy games. It's so cozy.

Holy Sh...! Donkey Kong on the Game Boy looks EXACTLY like on the SNES, just without the color! o_O Amazing what the Game Boy could pull off!
The list is missing "Super Hunchback", a platformer.
Also, I liked that it included only GB games, but I don't like coloured verdions of these games as on Super Gameboy or the clear graphics of it.
I loved the blurriness of the original GB liquid crystals screen.
Where was Final Fantasy Legend 2? That was by far the best one!

In my opinion mystic quest and gargoyles quest have to be much higher. Alfred chicken also deserves a place in here. Thanks for the nostalgia flash. Links awakening definitely deserves the first rank. How much time of my childhood I have wasted with this little console...

In some ways I always felt gameboy had a larger amount of good games vs gba, just based on my gaming preferences.

What if in an alternate timeline, Nintendo released both a home console and handheld simultaneously every 5-years? With the NES & a cartridge-based 8-Bit "Game&Watch" in 1985(with backlit colored screen & 2P link cable). Followed by the SNES & a 16-Bit "Super Game&Watch" in 1990(also with colored backlit screen & link cable). Then the N64 and a 3D 64-Bit "GameBoy" in 1995. Then the Gamecube & a 3D 128-Bit "GameBoyAdvance" in 2000. Then the Wii and DS in 2005. Then the Wii U and a DSi in 2010. The Switch in 2015. And Switch 2 in 2020.
Also, what if each console had only one Mario game and one Pokemon Gen every 5 years? With Mario as a home console-only IP. While Pokemon as handheld-only. With SMB/Gen 1 on NES/G&W in 1985. Then SMW/Gen 2 in 1990 SNES/SG&W. Then SM64/Gen3 in 1995 on N64/GB. Then SMSS/Gen4 in 2000 on GBA. Then SMG/Gen5 in 2005 on Wii/DS. Then NSMB/Gen6 in 2010 on WiiU/DSi. Then Osyssey/Gen7 in 2015 on Switch. And finally, Odyssey2/Gen8 in 2020 on Switch 2.

Hi. . Um Im looking for a gameboy game my cousin play before I dont know the title but heres some info I remember.
*It is around 1990s(95 or 96)
*It is a platformer
*at start you have 2 playable character 1 is melee 1 is ranged (if my memory correct the ranged one is kick a ball?)
*the gameplay and look is somewhat same of megaman (like stage and boss) but instead of just taking the ability of the boss after defeating them they join you and become usable character.
Hope you can help me find the game

Pretty solid list. Indo take exception to Mega Man 2 being the highest rated Mega Man title and 3-5 not making the list. Mega Man 2 is bland and easy; however, the NES version of 2 is a masterpiece. 1, 3, 4, and 5 are all better than 2 on Gameboy. 5 is the best of the series on Gameboy and at least top 10 on the system. 4 is also great and probably top 30 or so. 3 and 1 are solid games that should be in the top 100. 2 should be removed from the top 100.

I gotta say, the order of this list is _strikingly_ similar to supergainsbros' list of the top game boy games. you could at least give credit instead of plagiarizing.
I'd put Donkey Kong Country 2 ahead of any other platformer including Mario.

Super Mario Land #6 ? GTFO, game wasnt great and it was among my first gameboy games, even nostalgia cant save that one.
However i definitely agree with Super Mario Land 2 being #4
