    I stopped buying Duracel years ago because of their leakage issues, I believe that like so many things today they are trading on a past reputation for quality that they no longer live up to, I had to dismantle my label maker in order to clean up the mess because of leaking Duracels and have writen a note to self on the case to "NOT LEAVE BATTERIES IN" . my favourite batteries are Varta or Energizer.

    I chose another strategy - just bought (Chinese) 1.5V Li-Ion rechargeable batteries from Ali. 👍 They made their money back long time ago. Remote controls, DMM, not to mention how much more powerful my hair trimmer became. 💪 It seems like an "expensive" investment, until you do the math. Using my phone charger, they have a USB-C or microB plug. Even got a C size battery for my pop's Casio bell alarm clock. Haven't bought batteries in years now. All our flashlights take 18650 cells, just like the new models of hair clippers. Problem fixed - permanently. 😎✌

  • @bdcochran01
    @bdcochran01 Před 5 měsíci

    great. I will add to the solution(s). If your device takes rechargeables (ask the mfg. or read the manual and never guess), you probably will never have corrosion. With flashlights, I do the following: 1. ziploc sliding lock bag; 2. flashlight with batteries not inserted; 3. batteries within a battery holder that holds each battery separately. 4. I used to include alkaline batteries win the plastic battery holder. Now that the household users understand rechargeable batteries, I store rechargeable batteries with the unit.
    Recently, I had to take apart a 2 meter hand held radio which took a detachable AA battery pack. Corrosion from alkaline batteries had destroyed the battery pack. Carefully, I read the manual. The unit did not take rechargeable batteries. So everything was cleaned up and this time I stored the batteries separately.
