    Edison, New Jersey is a great place to live for many reasons. The town has a small-town feel while still being close to New York City. There are plenty of things to do in Edison, including shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The schools in Edison are also top-notch, making it a great place to raise a family. If you're looking for a safe and friendly community to call home, Edison is the perfect place for you.
    Edison New Jersey has what I like to call the "trifecta" when it comes to needs. It has great schools, is close to New York City, and it has a train station - all really important things to have in a city in this area!
    Edison New Jersey has AMAZING schools here. I've had plenty of people ask me about the schools in Edison and I tell them all the same thing - they're amazing! JP Stevens High School here in Edison New Jersey is the most sought after school, but all of the different schools here are incredible.
    The train station is Edison's saving grace. If you live in Edison, you know how important it is to have a train station. It makes getting into New York City a breeze and it's also convenient for commuting to work. The train schedule is always on time and there are plenty of trains to choose from.

    We're thinking of moving to NJ and debating between Edison/Metuchen, South Brunswick or West Windsor Township. This video was quite informative.
    Are there parks, play grounds and things like that for families with young kids.

    • @newjerseylivinggroup
      @newjerseylivinggroup  Před rokem +1

      Hi @yooom321, yes all 4 locations have local parks, great schools, and are very family oriented. I am scheduled to video in Princeton next week which is neighboring to West Windsor. That will give you a general feel for that area, albeit the West Windsor market is not as expensive as Princeton. Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions or even better schedule a call for a chat about these areas.

      Depends what you value and what you want to trade off… I am in Edison and 5 minutes from Metuchen where I ride my bicycle on the weekends.. Metuchen backyards are smaller than I like and most houses is too close to other neighbors which become a privacy concern. Unless you find bigger lot that is not too close to the neighbors, I would not move to Metuchen… I can’t speak of the other towns you mention…

    • @yooom321
      @yooom321 Před rokem

      Ended up buying in metcuhen. There's quite a few .25 acre lots in Metuchen. More than I initially thought. I like being able to walk to the train and being able to be in the town already. I also felt Metuchen was a bit more diverse and city like than north Edison, which was super superbia. It's a preference thing at this point. Both places were great. Edison definitely gives you more house and nicer house for your money. Metuchen is a bit over priced.

      I was looking at Livingston, Warren, Highland, Randolph and Millburn/short hills…
      Problem I found with Metuchen that there were asking Livingston and Warren county money for houses with smaller lots and there schools
      people are saying is good but they don’t match Edison or other districts school for what your paying. Also I found some businesses there to be not welcoming or friendly…
      The best place I found was Harrison NJ; however the schools were not up to par.. They had the best park, 25-30 minute commute to NYC, access to developments in Kearny and recent new target that was added and everything was 5 minutes away by car and walkable. Lots size were smaller but the house market there has exploded, I have two houses there and one in Edison…
      If I get a can 10sqft house in Metuchen with some privacy and the price is right 950k-1mill and it’s new construction or recent construction 5-10 years old, I would consider
      buying it… Before the market hype house prices in Metuchen was actually pretty decent. I past on 12k sqft lot with a old house for 518k which in retrospect I could bought at 450k -480 and break the down the house rebuild it it for 350k-400k and would probably be worth 1.2-1.4 million…
      If I am going spend 1.2 million - 1.5 million, then Livingston, Warren, Millburn, Monroe township, and others are better considerations (the interiors and room of metuchen homes were alot smaller)… Warren blew me away I passed 1.2 acre older house for 718k at the time, beautiful scenic backyard like a resort…

    I was looking to rent in Edison in Westgate or Edison Manor. I did notice the area is heavily populated with the Indian culture. Every townhome I have seen is owned by an Indian. Although I am well qualified, I feel they only want to rent to their own. So now I’m in the market to purchase.

    • @newjerseylivinggroup
      @newjerseylivinggroup  Před rokem +1

      @Marie thanks for the comment. I agree that housing is not cheap in NJ! Renting is always an option, however, each rent payment is money that you will never see again. There are affordable homeownership options, such as condos, that serve as an investment as well as your place of residence. Over time, that investment increases in value and you always have the option to use it as a rental when you choose to move on. Mortgage payments, unlike rent payments, are like depositing money into a bank account where you eventually will withdraw with a return. Please reach out if you decide to move to NJ, I would be happy to share insights on both the rental and purchase markets.

    Edison is CENTRAL NJ not northern.

    • @newjerseylivinggroup
      @newjerseylivinggroup  Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks for dropping the comment @larryk731. Categorizing Edison as Central NJ is up for debate. A drive or train ride to NYC is less than an hour. Along with Woodbridge, Edison is one of the few Middlesex county locations that can legitimately be considered as northern NJ. Somerville (Somerset County), Old Bridge, South Brunswick, and other towns in that area are most certainly Central. But as for Edison, I respectfully disagree.
