She was asked in an interview if being famous had changed her life, and she answered "Well, I can eat every day now if I want to".
so humble and so sad at the same time 😔
She was considered old by rock and roll standards. 30 yo when this hit.
Cyndi Lauper so amazing singer better than Madonna …. Voice so deep and emotions on real life …. Each album is gold mine ….nothing stop her for great fun time !
Gold mine was only one. That was have Time after time. I forgot was this song there or not though
She's So Unusual, her debut album, is a Big 80s classic. Cyndi went into acting, as well; she's still around.
This song is just as iconic as she is. Keep in mind, I was not born in the 80s, but I love this number. If you want to hear something mellow from Cyndi Lauper, if you haven't already, check out her song Time After Time.
Her Father in this video was played by Lou Albano, who was a Professional Wrestling Manager in the WWF. Very popular back in the late 1970's and 80's.
Lou Albano is still number 1.
And her mother in the video is her real mother.
She was also in a relationship with Lou when the video was made.
Respect! It's Cyndi, make girls be powered
Cyndi is an amazing multidimensional person. A true trendsetter. Two other songs that display her personality are ‘Time after Time,’ and ‘True Colors.’
BTW she was great to see perform in person.
Some of my favorite female artists of the '80s....
Irene Cara: Fame, Flash Dance What a Feeling. She is a singer from the '80s. She just died about a month ago.
Pat Benatar: We Belong, Shadows of the Night, Invincible, Love is a Battlefield....
Bonnie Tyler: Total Eclipse of the Night, I Need a Hero
Laura Branigan: Gloria, Self Control, Solitaire, Breaking Out, The Lucky One *my favorite '80s female singer
Quarter Flash: Harden my Heart, Find Another Fool, Take me to Heart
R.I.P Captain Lou we love you!
She was all over MTV back in the day, she has great range and that personality is definitely one of a kind.😊👍🙏❤️
She's still around. I saw her a few years ago in concert and she still had so much energy.
I still had all my albums packed away from growing up. 70's up. This one was among them. I dug them out of storage and gave them to my daughter. She was thrilled lol
Love this song.
Imagine working on this video in any capacity al you'd ever have to say in life is "I was in the Girls Wanna Have Fun" video.. and you are in no resume / explanation required.
Love her voice very much 🤩
Cyndi Lauper is a force of nature.
This song was a hit when I was in high school in the 80s.
Major dance hit back in the day - would fill the dance floor
The guy with the beard in the video is pro wrestling's Captain Lou Albano (1933-2009), who was good friends with Cyndi.
This are songs that no matter how many years pass, it continues to be a Hit !
I love this song & have loved it since it was released.
The 80s were crazy optimistic and the pop culture was all about happy.
Still a blast!!! Throw it up for the 80s house party. So much FUN!
One of the coolest songs from the 80's
Cyndi is legend
She has a wonderful range, wild crazy rock to really sweet ballads. Still love the music.
You'd love Cyndi Lauper -- her album that this song is from ("She's So Unusual") is awesome, it's definitely 1980's
In 2018 I had tickets to see Cyndi😍🥰😋 with Rod Stewart but he had a throat issue, and she wasn't available to reschedule 😭 I was primarily going to see her, with him as gravy
Deep rabbit hole if you want to go there. You do. you just don't know it yet.😎
Cyndi has a thick Brooklyn accent. That's her in her native New York. Her real-life mom plays her mother in the video; Lou Albano portrays her dad. That's her own bedroom.
I ❤❤❤ Cyndi ..❤ who she is. Unapologetically herself. She was considered a music rebel for the 80s ICONIC ❣
I love Cyndi Lauper she is my Queen of 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵 music...
Some songs just capture the mood and energy of a moment of time in history, and this song really conveyed the spirit of the early to mid-80s: energetic and free-spirited.
This was easily one of the biggest hits of the 1980’s.
Believe it or not it is a cover. It was written and released by a guy a few years earlier. Cyndi brought it to life though for sure.
Here are few from years ago:
Cher, Madonna, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, The Runaways, Heart, Diana Ross, The Supremes, Karen Carpenter, Three Degrees, Donna Summer, Kim Carnes, Janet Jackson, Nancy Sinatra, Janis Joplin, Olivia Newton-John, Minnie Ripperton, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Denice Williams, The Go-Gos, Connie Francis, The Bangles, Andrew Sisters, Helen Reddy, Tanya Tucker, Vickie Sue Robinson, Samantha Sang, Yvonne Elleman, the Pointer Sisters, Dolly Parton, The Ronettes, Martha & the Vandellas, The Crystals, Bananarama, LaBelle, and many many others. They cover different styles/genres starting in the 40's.
Now you're. Talkin'!.....Top notch talent!💗
Cyndi lauper is an underrated singer
The Go-Go's "Our Lips are Sealed" is another fun song/video.
I was in my twenties when this came out. She was a big star and this song was iconic. Another female artist would be Patti Smith. New York, pre-grunge a bit punky … super good!
Just love the 80s it's my youth... Don't take much to take me back to the more simple days... Loading games on cassette first spectrum then c64, watching top of the pops (uk) taping the top 40 off the radio playing the tapes in a Walkman to school in the rain... Summer lasted longer and felt warmer, Mars bars was bigger and cheaper, crisp packets was full and not half bag of air... Less channels to watch yet more entertainment, going out in the street with friends till late... No mobiles, just enjoying childhood, movies was better, the cinema was always full.
Brings back a lot of memories. I was also loading games onto my spectrum with a tape recorder. I had a ZX81 before the spectrum - 1k of programable memory and only black and white graphics!
@@simonbrown638 we had the spectrum 48k first although my dad did have the atari 6800 which I can only just remember playing on... But the c64 was my own personal machine and still remember the joys of playing outrun on the arcades in Spain and the excitement when my dad brought it on the c64 few years ago I got the original cassette with the extra audio tape off ebay and same with operation wolf.. When I look at them I am instantly taken back to them days
@@flash301 I bought the 16k version of the Spectrum with money I had saved up. Sent it away to be upgraded to 48k. I wish I had kept it, only got rid of it a few years ago. I remember thinking how brilliant the graphics were, compared to the ZX81. Amazing how they did so much with so little back then. Still gaming 40 years later, but on a PS5!
@@simonbrown638 I was just saying the other day about the c64 I had the same set up for about 6 years it didn't go out date every 2 years or needed upgrading.
I do have a spectrum 48 and c64 both with a raspberry pi inside (pi 1 and pi 3)
You want to look into getting a pi set up you can play all the old spectrum games including many others upto ps1
Beautiful, Heart whit the Wilson sister you will fall in love whit Ann Wilson powerfull voice 😊😊
Thank you! 😊
there were no feminist movement, just girls who want have fun!
This is why we loved the 80s. If you want more fun, upbeat American girl bands from the 80s, check out "Our Lips are Sealed" from the Go-Go's.
Teens on phones, that would be the internet of the '80s, teens socializing with each other over the phones. Of course, it was local, not around the world because if I recall correctly, it cost a lot to call international back then. Even long distance within a country was very expensive.
**Cyndi** is actually 69/70 years of age now ( in 2023 ) and, as far as i know, still going fabulously strong 😁; she truly is absolutely marvellous...!!! And, if you´re not already familiar with them, you might want to suss out *Spice Girls* and *Bananarama* ( two British girl groups ) as well as *The Go-Go´s* ( like *Cyndi L,* also from the US ) - oh, plus *The Bangles, Annie Lennox/Eurythmics, Devinyls* and many more - ALL of whom had tonnes of major hits during the 1980´s, and quite well beyond...!! ~🩷💖
This was Cyndi's real mother in this video. The father was Played by former wrestler and manager Lou Albano who appeared an a few of her videos
a great choice a hit from the 80s
Girl Power, Song is a classic & the music video is on the Top 5 of 80's music videos with over 1 billion views. Fun music video, just a catchy song as well. Another fun video from Cyndi Lauper is She Bop. Another big hit from her successful debut album. React to She Bop, wild video & another catchy song from her.
what a positive russian girl ! great :))
Great reaction to an amazing song :) - You should see the move "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" that´s where I first heard this song. I was 12 back in 1985 when the movie came out.
Cyndi Lauper was a wonderful vocalist too. Her version of "La Vie En Rose" will break your heart.
True Colors
She Bop
I Drove All Night
Time After Time
One of my favorite songs. It’s from the 1980’s. That was my high school years and college years. That was a great decade for me. Thank you for reviewing this song. Happy New Year.
And this a cover song she did. Originally written and sung by Robert Hazard in the late 70s.
Wow, I never knew that!
@@acool925 ya I didn't know for years either. Here is the original. czcams.com/video/5aLNwOxPsjg/video.html
i want to have fun!!!!!!! 😂😄✌
Ok this came out probably before you were born 😊 never really liked her but it’s was an iconic song growing up, I’m sure you will like it😊 love your review’s!
I didn’t either till I got old and appreciated “she boop” ps look up live in Japan
I was smiling watching you sway back and forth with the video. Love it! Cyndi is amazing.
Hi, Did you know? Cyndi Lauper is 69 years old in 2022. And she was born on 22nd june 1953.
Want more girls' songs to react to?
Do "Walk Like An Egyptian", from the Bangles!
Awesome reaction! I loved it!. I just to recommend some other girls. Rock Goddess, The song "I didn't know I loved you till I saw you rock and roll" The Donnas, the Song "Take it off" and the Go-Gos, the song "Our lips are sealed". Hope to see you react to these songs!
5:10 Feminism started on a national level in the early 1900's when women were protesting for the right to vote (franchise). It got a big boost in the 60's with women like Bella Abzug and Gloria Steinem and others having big a socilal and political influence for and on women's rights.
And the "Feminist National Athem" sung by Helen Reddy..."'I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR". 1971
Love that song.
for more of her energy, these videos: Money Changes Everything, Change of Heart, That's What I Think ... and in 1995 she re-recorded this song and gave it a new video, it's called Hey Now (Girls Just Want to Have Fun).
*@Planetcharr* Yes ! And it was featured in the marvellous film ( from that same year ): ¨To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything ! ~Julie Newmar¨ ~💖
Cyndi is a national treasure
Iove you're reactions they make me smile 😃
Need to check out The family band of 5. Girl singer and Girl drummer. The band is Liliac and they do many great covers and awesome originals.
I love your top, black is my favorite color. Happy 2023
I love watching your responses to videos (especially 80's and 90's videos). You facial expressions are awesome (Total compliment btw) and I love your accent.
Hi, If I was her mother in the video I would be saying "Get these people of my nice clean floor. And out of my house."
love it!
Cyndi Lauper is still performing - this was her breakthru song making her a star - a feminist anthem/pop classic. I also recommend the following female singers/bands w/women: Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Deborah Harry (BLONDIE), Heart, The Go-Gos, The Bangles, Laura Branigan, Stevie Nicks, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Annie Lennox (Eurythmics), Diana Ross (The Supremes), Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters)& Olivia Newton-John.
PS: That was Cyndi's real-life mom in the video (she sadly died recently from Dementia; Cyndi took care of her while she was sick) and she's also a very big supporter of the LGB community.
Great song&review!
Canadian Grand Pa Here, If you want to Experience Real American Culture, Watch the Movie " Bye Bye Birdie", You will find it Very Interesting 1963 American Experience. Loves Ya Sweetie, Great Show, or like They say in the Movie, "Really big Shoe", that is Ed Sullivan's Line.
Just to add a couple that I haven't seen mentioned yet...
The Flirts, "Jukebox (Don't Put Another Dime)"
Scandal, "The Warrior" or "Goodbye to You"
Quarterflash, "Harden My Heart" or "Take Me To Heart"
The Motels, "Only the Heart" or "Suddenly Last Summer"
Divinyls, "I Touch Myself" or "Pleasure & Pain"
Bow Wow Wow, "I Want Candy"
This song brings back memories of growing up in the 80's. Nice starting off a new year with a RussianReaction video. Thanks again Irina. Hope 2023 brings you lots of fun and happiness.
we #KASHMIRIAN love you and support you
Irina glad you enjoyed this song and video. Can really see your big smile. Also you fooled me with the Apple notification sound in the middle. Had to rewind to be sure it was part of your video. Happy New Year! Спасибо большое
The man who played her father was Captain Lou Albano. He is a pro wrestling hall of famer as a wrestler and later manager. Because he appeared in this video, Cyndi Lauper appeared in the WWF now WWE, as a manager. She managed the WWF womens champion Wendi Richter and teamed with Captain Lou as part of the ROCK N WRESTLING CONNECTION and was a huge reason that WWE exists. She is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame
And her real mother played her mother in the video as well
@@GeorgeD1965 i didn't know that
@@vincentdarrah Yeah, she used a stage name. My guess is that she didn't want the publicity.
This one was wonderful. The song, the video, and the reaction were great.
Happy New year! Thank you so much
@@RussianReactionReviews Cyndi Lauper I drove all night My first night without you. 1990 Mexico city czcams.com/video/uV-d59dovZI/video.html

I grew up listening to this song as a kid. It still as fun and watching you experience it really warmed my heart. You’re amazing Irina. Where is Montana hiding?
Another huge female hit in the same time period that you would like is by Blondie, the song “Rapture.” NYC-fashion-shoes-style-attitude
Tina Turner. "WHAT"S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT".......... " WE DON"T NEED ANOTHER HERO"
Nancy Sinatra. "THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKIN'"
Helen Reddy. "I AM WOMAN"
She recorded this in 1983..
Although it was her debut single and will always be associated with her, Cyndi didn't write it. It was written and first recorded by a guy named Robert Hazard. A guy.
Yes, people are mostly unaware that this is just a cover version. Ditto with Joan Jett's I Love Rock n' Roll, and The Go Go's Our Lips Our Sealed (co-written by Jane Weidlin, but recorded first by Fun Boy 3).
My New Year is a ton better for having subscribed and gotten to know you through your reaction videos. I love your accent, your honesty, your inside and outside beauty. Whomever holds your heart is extremely lucky on levels most mortals never get to see. I foresee your enjoyment of 80's music from many artists. I'd like to dedicate a song to you, called "Eternal Flame" as sang by the Bangles. If you haven't heard it yet, please give it a listen. Your heart will enjoy it. :) Stay safe and Happy New Year!

There are at least 50 more great female singers, rock stars,
Sometimes boys just wanna have fun too 😂👍
Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon
Heart - Barracuda
this song came out in 1983.... and was a huge hit... every club was blasting this out LOUD... best time of my life 80's and 90's and also late 70' funky tunes...also known as Motown...
You should do a reaction video to SIA . There are also professional dancers in some of her videos which you might like.
God has graced you with the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen and I love you (not in a creepy way)😂
she came out the same time as Madona, Madona stole the limelight from her well so they said back then
Yes...Back then music critics predicted Cyndi Lauper was the next major SUPERSTAR, and Madonna
would fade, be forgotten.
Yes this song is a classic I don't care how old it is I'll listen to it anytime rip Lou Albano better known as Captain Lou Albano in wrestling he was also Mario in the Super Mario Bros Super Show I remember the episode where Cyndi Lauper guest started anyway you're really pretty I like your accent and you look cute in that leather dress
If you liked Cindy Lauper, you probably should check "Time after time" and "She bops" from her. Time after time is my favorite song from her, but it is a little more romantic. She bops is more dynamic, just like this one, and at the time, very controversial.
5:03. Good point Irina... Feminism the start of it....But the REAL SONG starting Feminism in America, 1972, "I AM WOMAN"
By Helen Reddy....Am so dying to hear your reaction to her song. That song I believe explains a big difference between traditional Russian women and
Modern American women. A big hit for past 50 years, "Feminist National Anthem"
Female Group. The Pointer Sisters
Songs. "HE'S SO SHY". and. "SLOW HAND"
Hope you have a happy new year Irina
I would recommend The Bangles, Walk like an Egyptian. They are an all girl band.
This video was like a short musical.
Memories of my High School year's!!!
Hopefully you enjoyed it!
That's really her dad
All-girl bands:
*The Bangles*
- Walk Like an Egyptian
- Hazy Shade of Winter
*The Go-Go's*
- We Got The Beat
- Head Over Heels
I think you would find a group called Madness Interesting. I would recommend 'It must be love' or 'our house 'or for just silly fun 'last boat to Cairo ' :) music of my misspent youth , great times lol :)
Cyndi Lauper's voice: If a foghorn could sing.
