Hollywood never cast Dev as an action hero, so Dev decides to make his own action movie and star himself. Definitely marking my calendar for this thrill ride.
He was this close 🤌 to being Reed Richards in Marvel's Fantastic Four MCU Reboot. He was my top choice..but Marvel Studios have been on a losing streak as of late, and were seriously considering Jake Gyllenhaal as Richards, Adam Driver also. But ultimately went with Pedro Pascal. Dev would've been perfect, imo

The editing in this advertisement is masterclass. Told me everything I need to know about the film before watching, focused on the setting and style instead of plot, and the timing between cuts incredible. Goosebumps at 0:48. Perfect trailer for the film that may have it all.

Dev Patel has come a long way from Skins. Never knew he’d be this big, but since Slumdog Millionaire he’s grown from actor now to director and screenwriter. Good for him and he continues to impress

His body of work speaks for itself, this is pretty mich the only film I'd consider going to the cinema for this year. Dev is the man and its just the positive buzz I needed to see him doing his entirely own thing. Good on Jordan for recognising the pure talent of the man. I am sure his place in film history is already sealed and deservedly so. I'm sure this will be one of those films that the next generation talk about as if it was "his first big thing..have you seen it etc.." I don't know why I know but I do, he'll be in high demand as a director and actor for years to come...he'll probably have to turn down bond...unless he gets to direct. Let's get a movement going Dev Patel = James Bond ( but he has full creative freedom and final cut) but to be honest I think he could do sex and city and it'd still be a masterpiece. The man is way and above almost anyone still working today. So happy to see him direct and write.

High hopes for this one, plus the fact that this was originally supposed to come out on Netflix only, however Jordan Peele watched the movie and bought the distribution rights in order for it to get a wider release. I’m not one to comment on movies but this is an exception. This movie got me through a wave of emotions all thanks to Dev Patel. Really hats off to him for pulling this off. Absolutely proud of him! I can see him going far. He really deserves more recognition in Hollywood. He has such a good range. He really pulls you into the character in such a beautiful way. Literally had goosebumps watching this!

This has to be one of the best edited trailer I have seen in a long time. Introduces the protagonist, antagonist, gives a gist of the story, a few snippets of action and doesn’t give away the whole plot. Brilliant. I’ll be watching this film.

The shaky cam aligns with the inner turmoil and inexperience of Dev's character which steadily builds up with more stable wide shots as he grows stronger in confidence and brutal in revenge. It is intentional and supposed to jar

See? It’s possible to make an amazing trailer, without spoiling the movie, with great music, and stellar editing. This should honestly make history, trailers have truly been lacking as of late, this surely raises the bar.
Wrong. Trailer was over 3 minutes and no almost no real dialog.. whats the point of the movie? they definitely showed all of the best scenes in that trailer.. a good trailer builds suspense for the vibes of the movie. Without showing the movie itself. These just flash all the coolest scenes at you to get into the theater.
Without spoiling it? It told the whole story! Including that there's a final showdown between Dev Wick and the villain

I recently took my uncle to see this and we both loved it. I haven't seen Dev Patel since Slumdog Millionaire, he was great in that and great in this. For cell phone and drone footage, the cinematography was great. All the acting was supurb, I really felt the story, and I loved all the action with Patel training the inhabitants how to fight being an unexpected surprise.

If a real historic figure can be whitewashed to fit the racist tendencies of a religious movement, a fictional character can absolutely be depicted by someone whose skin colour differs from what the author of the adapted works intended.

Thi is something extremely rare I have watched over the decades, So intense and clear, you know story will be just simple revenge but at the same time you know you will live every emotion while watching this in theater with proper sound system and isolation from your day to day life... Uff wish people make more such fresh movie with simple story but effective story telling...

It actually does look pretty decent. Cool set pieces, fun fight sequences. Also I like that it's not John Wick, Equalizer and Tom Cruise cause they've literally been carrying the action genre on their back for like a decade lol.
You can see the influences of those franchises in this trailer, from the colorful lighting to the stylized subtitles
